I think we are in big trouble as a club now .
No available funding Due to FFP. Existing players wages and contracts crippling. Incompetent failed CEO oversaw failure on pitch and recruitment and losses close to 100 million a year now from established Premier League Club status. Piss poor management of team. Players on social media talking of lack of leadership. Shocking form . Supporters totally pissed off with club and apathetic. If the club was owned by anyone bar Coates we would be in administration now. Time for youth and cross your fingers.
Oh and 6 wins in 27

I try to put things into perspective.
We have some shit he has inherited that he can't shift and even late last season there were still the odd calamity, Leeds and Wigan away notably, but he always got a reaction and won the next game and at least looked like we had a plan.
Today was as bad as it gets for me. No reaction to Monday, players still switching off and making the same mistakes, an alarming lack of desire( with 7 of his own signings starting ) and the usual piss taking Vokes substitution.
I'm far from wanting him gone ( yet ) but genuinely wouldn't shed a tear if he did.
And this is from someone who couldn't praise him enough for the job he did last season.

Fell asleep just before half time, I've grown a knack of switching the game on and nodding off.
I can only assume we lost and it wasn't very good haha

Keep the manager, promote coaches from within and players from within. Then prepare 20 players for their goodbyes over the course of next season and keep Powell.

The 21 players out of contract at the end of next season will still be here draining our resources next season whether MON is in charge or not. We’re as likely to go downwards as we are upwards unless the recruitment team stray pulling out a few gems. I don’t see anyone crazy enough to take on this job until then.....

As I said to someone straight after the game we're dysfunctional.
If you genuinely have to ship out eleven players on loan because they can't fit in then either recruitment has been beyond disasterous for which the CEO who oversaw it should be sacked - or the manager can't coach. And while I have some sympathy for some of the injuries (Campbell and Collins would improve the side) - all teams get injuries and we have to come to terms with the fact that the two managers we most recently sacked are about to finish above us in the league with smaller budgets and players we've loaned to them (and probably subsidising) in their squads.
Someone from the club come out and offer an explanation because the problem seems to be uniquely Stoke.

As a person he’s just what we need to lead the club as a tactician he’s a million miles off as he’s not brave enough in his selections and tactics. That said with the injuries we’ve had this season there’s a good few managers who would have achieved far less than mid table. He has been really unlucky to lose our talisman striker and many other decent players that would have improved us. I just think the manager is a small part of the problem. Scholes John Coates Nathan Jones Gary Rowett Mark Hughes are all far more responsible for the mess we’re in and why we have no money to invest . We could hire Bielsa and we’d still be a poor side because we don’t have the parts we need to make a good side. To many has beens and never beens.

Difficult to put your finger on it. Sometimes it feels really positive like after the Bristol City win, then within 2 games you’re left wondering where we’re really going with it. I don’t ever think it’s down to lack of effort with us, but we know how to make it really difficult for ourselves and it’s felt like that for years. Still major changes needed.
I can’t be arsed being stuck in this god awful league but I don’t see an easy way out of it and I don’t think another manager offers any solution either. It’s disheartening to watch when it plays out like today. Really rotten.

Promote the players he thinks aren't good enough? I don't think that I've said that I think he thinks they aren't good enough. You might have misread that. He just prefers older men. I think that he thinks they are good but I think that he thinks he's scared of using them in case they make mistakes which I think that he thinks will come back to him because I think that he thinks that I - and you and everybody else and his dog - will be annoyed. Did I make myself clear?

He won't be sacked but how anyone retains any significant levels of confidence in him is beyond me.
