That is true re the drain, but MON being here means we'll also waste the players that aren't a drain and can actually contribute. I still think there'd be a few that would see it as a decent chance (true or not), some good youngsters, some experienced pros etc, and if this ffp shit we're currently suffering from can eventually be escaped we have quite a bit of potential given we have the money but currently can't spend it. If FFP is scrapped then that's a game changer, until then I see no one willing or able to step in under our current hierarchy. Pearson, Cook and McCarthy were the main people mentioned earlier in the season, all have massive jobs on their hands and in 12-18 months time their clubs may be no better off than they are now. If the club want to be radical and appoint a Director of Football to oversee everything and employ a coach rather than an old school manager then again that changes the goalposts, but as much as the Coates family have been brilliant for us second time round there's no evidence to suggest a radical overhaul will ever happen.... No I don't think a radical overhaul will happen either but I still think there'd be plenty of takers for the job if it did become available, I also don't think it will, traditionally we've tried to stand by managers unless they're clearly incompetant or do something stupid.

There is nothing else this manager can do. It's madness to consider dismissing him. Is this a wind up. He could maybe stop using Vokes to change games, find a system that works for this group of players, and even not drop inform players, or, and this is very radical so bear with me, he could be more positive in his approach to games. There's plenty he could do.

There is nothing else this manager can do. It's madness to consider dismissing him. You kidding? (Re nothing else he could do) We have regressed from last season under him. Why is he playing a back 3? There’s no need for it, it’s pathetically negative. Why does he use Vokes? He doesn’t have to. Why did he shit himself when Campbell got injured?
This season has been a disaster from him. He looks naive, negative and massively out of his depth. Easy answer, he only had one plan and it was pass it to Campbell, if that didn't work he was stuck.

Agree he needs to go. But they won't sack him because they can't afford to, or more worrying, they think he is doing a good job. They can afford to do anything they want. Who do you want in? Pugs they can personally but not in the football club , they can’t even afford to renew Powell’s contract according to O’Neil , not sure that snippet will go down well with the chief executive

There is nothing else this manager can do. It's madness to consider dismissing him. Something has to change though, mate. Is Scholes the problem? We're in a bad situation now, because of the money rowett squandered. They backed him, he's put us in a terrible position. O'neill will keep us stable until the 22 out of contract leave in just over a year, then he has a chance to build. I'd argue if Campbell had stayed fit we would be in the play off positions. Two of our match winners from last season, Clucas and Campbell, have been injured. It's been a shit situation for the manager

Peter has nothing to do with it now It's John pulling the strings now! Wrong. He is still co-chairman. He's not bothered answering calls from Pete Smith, but he's every bit as dedicated and committed to SCFC as he ever was.

If we leave TP to one side - he should have been appointed when Hughes was sacked, but now is probably too late, then managers like Warnock know what they are doing in this division. We can’t keep appointing managers with potential, we need someone who knows what they are doing straight away. Boro sit 2 points above us. Warnock, like Pulis, has had his day. I disagree. Both have another promotion campaign left before they retire. I don’t think the time is right for TP - the longer he is out of the game, the tougher it gets. With Warnock instead of MON we have a better chance next season. And our precious, strolling players won’t dare disrespect him. We cannot carry on experimenting with managers who might or might not succeed.

Easy but wrong. He didn't even select Campbell in the first month of the season, preferring Ince and Gregory. It's only when those two failed that Campbell was used, and with Fletcher guiding him he struck a rich vein of form. In all likelihood it wouldn't have continued the whole season, had he been fit.

Better than the four experimental appointments that everyone knows would struggle with the size of the job. In hindsight, Rowett could have worked but he lost the crowd and after that there is no way back.

All true, I just don't think he is helping himself at all though and the Vokes thing is just starting to come across as totally stubborn piss taking. I will give him next season but assuming Campbell, Collins and Doughty will be available and with the likely return of fans to the ground he really has to change his mindset. There will be no hiding place. It's bad enough that our whole season next year allegedly depends on whether Campbell and Collins get fit. Now we are also placing our eggs in the basket on a player than hasn't played a single second of football for us. It doesn't depend on those at all. It depends on whether or not MON can make a strong cohesive team out of the many different individuals, some of whom don't want to play for us. He hasn't really succeeded so far, but it was never going to be easy and done with. Give him more time. Not because he necessarily deserves it, but because SCFC do. Sure ,like I said I don't particularly want him gone but the things he has said post match has set alarm bells ringing. It's not the calm ,well spoken and articulate man we saw last season and for most of this.

I try to put things into perspective. We have some shit he has inherited that he can't shift and even late last season there were still the odd calamity, Leeds and Wigan away notably, but he always got a reaction and won the next game and at least looked like we had a plan. Today was as bad as it gets for me. No reaction to Monday, players still switching off and making the same mistakes, an alarming lack of desire( with 7 of his own signings starting ) and the usual piss taking Vokes substitution. I'm far from wanting him gone ( yet ) but genuinely wouldn't shed a tear if he did. And this is from someone who couldn't praise him enough for the job he did last season. Good post pal

I'd argue that there's very little that's stable about the way we're playing bar that its constantly awful to watch, people aren't going to put up with it for another season in the hope he suddenly becomes a completely different manager because a few players have left.

I suppose the alternative to a Warnock type appointment would be someone like John Terry with a very, very experienced manager as mentor.

It's time for change
I would change the CEO ,the head of recruitment and the way the club is run
Why does the fact that MoN ,NJ and Rowett are happier running northern Ireland / Luton / Millwall make them bad managers ?
Why do we have to keep endlessly churning the manager until we can find one that thrives on an amateur CEO and amateur recruitment set up ?
Does such a manager even exist ?

I’m of a similar mind. As a person he’s just what we need to lead the club as a tactician he’s a million miles off as he’s not brave enough in his selections and tactics. That said with the injuries we’ve had this season there’s a good few managers who would have achieved far less than mid table. He has been really unlucky to lose our talisman striker and many other decent players that would have improved us. I just think the manager is a small part of the problem. Scholes John Coates Nathan Jones Gary Rowett Mark Hughes are all far more responsible for the mess we’re in and why we have no money to invest . We could hire Bielsa and we’d still be a poor side because we don’t have the parts we need to make a good side. To many has beens and never beens. 3 managers have invested best part of £70million to get us out of this league. How come it's Mark Hughes's fault? The club is run by footballing amateurs. Always has been. Winning one cup in 160 years tells you that. he’s a smaller part of the problem but correct me if i’m wrong didnt he sign Imbula and Wimmer and Berahino. Three players that started our decline and we were still paying for in the Championship.
