Which is mind boggling considering our form since December or so...
All the same, we could sneak in.
I don't for a second think we would win them but to get in at all would be a real showing of progress and atleast keeping within arms reach gives us something to play for till the end of the season.
MON's the man, onwards and upwards.

Got to be consistent. Only Norwich at the moment are, Brentford are having a meltdown (again) and Bournemouth. Just keep winning the rest will take care of itself. The division seems to be closing up though, very tight. We have to bridge that gap and stay in there, maybe its a season too early but why not give it a go.

It will be a huge ask to get into the top 6 from here, however I think 5th and 6th are very catchable in that pack. It would take a monumental collapse from any of the others, which I just don't see.

There is always one club that hits a good run and sneaks in. I personally don’t think we will as we’re a striker away from doing it. However let’s take one game at a time and if we do it then brill

Yes we are in touching distance but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We hadn’t won since Galileo was kicking about before Sheff Weds and we can just as easily slip away. If it happened then it would be remarkable as an achievement but I’d rather keep schtum and hope quietly. After all it’s the hope that kills you

Bournemouth are certainly doing their best to leave the door slightly ajar.
A Thierry Henry appointment would do very nicely too.

I still can’t see it.
We’ve drawn too many games and not scored enough goals in the middle third of the season. It’s left us with needing virtually two points per game on average to stand a chance of getting in. Bearing in mind our next three games are against one of the divisions form teams in Barnsley, followed by Brentford and Swansea, it’s an uphill task.

It’s good to be this close.
But I think we’ll fall away in the next 5 games.

There are 4 teams Norwich Watford Brentford and Swansea who are nailed on for top 6. After that the final 2 places at the moment are contested by Bournemouth Reading Cardiff Middlesboro Barnsley and ourselves. Are any of those really better than us. I am not so sure and it's likely that a couple will have a lean spell. If and its a big IF we can maintain some consistency up front we have a chance of making 6th. Can't say I fancy our chances against any of the top 4 in the playoffs at the moment. But a challenge for 6th will make for a decent end to a season I genuinely thought was over just one week ago....funny old game in the batshit crazy championship!!

anything can happen in football, you only have to look at the bottom of the league table last year, and all the permutations available.
4 points is nothing if we do what we did today.

No chance were not ready or good enough yet its still a building job. Agree. Wouldn't want to sneak in and then fluke our way up only to be the whipping boys next season. Always better to go up automatic.

If we are still within 4 points after the next batch of 6 then we may have a chance. After this difficult set of games we have a relatively easy final 8 or 9 games to the season finishing with Bournemouth.

Knowing us, we'll get 7 points from our next 3 to take us to the brink of the play-offs - then get stuffed by already doomed Wycombe

No chance. If we finish 8th I think that it is good enough. 45 points now. If we get 66 I will be happy.
I was looking at the bottom last week to be honest.

9 teams with any sort of chance for the bottom two playoff places and we are one of them.

I don't think so either. But I'd love to see us make it just to get play-off experience under our belt and in these players' heads. Plus, it'd be nice to see the season stretched...by at least 1 game.

I think I'll be happy if that's about where we finish too. Even more happy if it's just one point off. However, in all honesty I don't think we are anywhere near ready for the Premier League at this moment in time. We need some real quality in the middle, proper permanent full backs and a younger, fitter out and out striker to take over from Fletcher, who can't these days manage that many games a season unfortunately.

A top 10 finish after our flirt with relegation last season and our injuries this season will be a relative success. I wouldn't change MON for any manager in the league.

We'll miss out because we haven't got a striker to replace Fletcher. It would also be nice if Oakley-Boothe was anywhere near pushing Powell.
There's no point speculating on why that didn't happen in the window, best to enjoy a positive end to the season and try and win as many games as possible.

The playoffs should be the target.
I think we would've been challenging for the top 2 if two of Campbell, Fletcher and Powell had been fit for most of the season. Fingers crossed Fletcher and Powell remain fit for the remainder.

No chance were not ready or good enough yet its still a building job. I'd still want promotion just for the money. It's a tough time for football clubs at the moment with no crowds in and absolutely no idea when they'll be allowed back. Probably won't be able to have fully open, unrestricted stadiums even next season to be honest. So just for the financial security if nothing else, I want promotion because the Premier League is the only place that offers that right now. I agree though that we're not ready and would likely struggle very badly if we did manage to scrape up.

Any team in this league will struggle if they go up but obviously they won't keep the same side. With the rem money it's never too early to go up.

Only a week ago there were knicker wetters on here talking about us getting dragged into the relegation fight. It might be dull to predict a safe mid table spot, but that's by far the most realistic outcome.
