We just need to focus on the next game and try and keep this winning run going, it’s only a week since we were put to the sword by Norwich, win a few more on the bounce though and it’s within our grasp. We need to be lucky enough to keep Powell and Fletcher fit. I feel we are making up for lost time though after the last few months when we drew far too many games. I don’t think we look like a team yet who can go and win 5 or 6 in a row, but I hope they prove me wrong. Either way, it’s a hell of a lot better than the past few seasons, it’ll be nice to finish near the playoffs even if we don’t quite get over the line.

We've seen this week that we are better than the bottom half teams.
We've also seen. virtually every time we've played a team in the top 6, how we're not quite at the level of a genuine play-off team.
In fact our results have been consistent all year. When we've played teams you'd expect us to be better than, we've not lost many. When we've faced the promotion chasers, we've not won many. Having said that, sixth spot has never been out of reach- the problem is there are about 6 sides in the scramble for it.

if we went up, it's arguable if we're as strong a squad as when we went up last time.
However, the bottom line is, we need the money.
It's better for us to go up, get £100m for one season at least, and then possibly get relegated on refreshed parachute payments. We get to keep our rising young stars, or sell for better cash.
It'd be better for the city too, having a PL club.
We need MON to see what he's getting right, and continue it for the last 15 or so games of the season.
4 points for me, is nothing in this crazy league.

I think it’s a good point you make about six or so clubs being in a scramble for the sixth spot. That could play into our hands because it could drag down the number of points it will take to get 6th. Lots of competitive games between sides who will all still think they have a chance, hopefully taking points off each other.

There is always one club that hits a good run and sneaks in. I personally don’t think we will as we’re a striker away from doing it. However let’s take one game at a time and if we do it then brill I reckon it'll be QPR

We've generally looked better than the bottom half teams but whenever we've come up against the sides currently in the top 6 we've generally been well beaten and frankly a bit outclassed at times. I think we've got a good chance of a solid top 10 finish now but I think sixth place is going to be just out of reach. We dropped too many points in that dreadful run in December and January and we'll have to win more games than I think we're capable of doing to catch up the lost points. Also we're going to be relying on luck with injuries with key players like Powell and Fletcher needing to stay fit because we've got absolutely nothing to replace them with. I can't see us getting that lucky.

It’s madness that we are so close, if we had had even a half decent points return over the last few months we would have been well in there now

I can't see us getting that lucky. a couple of big losses for teams above us today injury wise. Rico Henry huge for Brentford. if you put a run of 3 or 4 wins together you can go from mid table to play offs so far far from out of sight. I think next season is the one to make a push but plenty of points to get in there yet

When we've played teams you'd expect us to be better than, we've not lost many. Zero to be precise. In all competitions we've not lost to any team outside the top 27 in the English pyramid.

I’d be happy if we could go into the last game of the season with a chance. Can’t see it myself think we will miss out by 3 or 4 points.
Anyway don’t want to go up this season, prefer to go up next year when 🤞 we will be allowed back in and smash this league .😂

We’re only 8 points off where we were at the same stage of the 07/08 season. Given that we got promoted automatically on that occasion, that’s not a huge gap. There’s at least 6 winnable games left which would get us to 63. Getting another 7 or 8 on top of that isn’t out of the question and that’s not including Barnsley or Brentford. If we can get another 2 or 3 points from the next two, I think we’ll be in a decent position.
We still have plenty of “easier” games to come.

A couple out and odd addition to hopefully injury free-ish season and have a good chance you feel

If we can't make it to the play offs ourselves this year, then let's at least spoil the party for someone else. Something akin to our final game against Forest last year. Wait. We've got Bournemouth for our last game this time around... mwah ha ha!

I still can’t see it. We’ve drawn too many games and not scored enough goals in the middle third of the season. It’s left us with needing virtually two points per game on average to stand a chance of getting in. Bearing in mind our next three games are against one of the divisions form teams in Barnsley, followed by Brentford and Swansea, it’s an uphill task. Brentford have just lost 3 games on the bounce, and we’ve beaten them once already. Swansea aren’t unbeatable and when we’re on song, Barnsley can be kicked into touch. The key difference between our last 2 games and the previous 14 is that we’re looking a lot more comfortable and dangerous in a 4-2-3-1. Four points from the next 3 games puts us right into playoff contention.

We are in a crazy league.
Brentford going like a train in a promotion spot on successive wins then lose to Barnsley, QPR, and Coventry!!!
Last season the bottom 5 clubs with 5 games to go (including us) all avoided relegation.
If you made it up no one would believe you.

Bournemouth looked certs a few weeks ago, we were on Norwich's coat tails, can change so quickly. Fulham and Villa came from nowhere one season, as long as we steadily pick up points others will be up and down. We have a decent chance but will be down to who finishes strongest is so tight

Anyone who doesn't want to go this season up is a fucking idiot. Sod consolidation, get up by any means possible and spend the money on players that improve us and keep us in the top division.
It's our year, lads.

The next five games are huge.
Barnsley (A) Brentford (A) Swansea (H) Wycombe (H) Middlesbrough (A)
Ideally, you'd want to be winning at least three of them if we want to be in contention in 5 games time. 3 wins & a draw would be great.
Might just be out of our reach tbh but good form over the next two months or so will put us in the question.

Our best forwards are simply fit and in form. I’d expect us to beat Sheffield Wednesday and Luton at home playing any system.

We beat Brentford In my opinion we were better side in both games v Watford yet we lost both Better side in both games v Reading We made 8 changes v swansea and played a reserve team pretty much Bournemouth - debatable. There was little in the game and we gifted it to them We beat Boro But for Vokes, we beat Cardiff comfortably That's all the teams above us. Our problem is simply that we've drawn far too many games against teams you'd hope we'd beat.
