Got the meal worms on the bird table , the starlings with their long beaks cramming them in to feed their young across the way in hole under the eaves

Pair of Robins making regular visits to the two tables I've got here, they do their usual feisty routine with the others but they seem to get on with each other against all the odds. Have you been brave enough to venture into live mealworms yet, Chuff??? Robins love them! You have to put the mealies into quite high-sided containers, though, or they'll wriggle away! I've found somewhere to get them murph but don't think I'll bother. Magpies, Crows and Gulls seem to dominate at the moment and all the smaller birds are just nipping on when they can to pick up the remains. I've had to be ever more creative hanging things underneath rather than placing on top.

I still find it odd that you get these locally. Couple of shots taken this morning. It's a magpie going to a fancy dress party......

Fantastic to hear the cuckoo's call yesterday, same spot (roughly) up the valley that the railway runs.

Mixed news from the Dyfi Osprey nest. Egg one hatched chick doing well, egg two hatched chick died of 'accidental suffocation', third egg due to hatch tomorrow apparently. Fingers crossed. By all accounts it's not uncommon re the suffocation.
