Well, hopefully, we agree that I haven't misrepresented your views on Trump, Bianco. Don't worry, it didn't take that long as you are/were one of his biggest and most vocal supporters on this board! As many people pointed out at the time his links to Putin were pretty deep. If, on the back of Putin's invasion of Ukraine, you're now distancing yourself somewhat from Trump, fair enough, nothing wrong with changing your mind. But I'd be careful. I'd issue the same warning about being too ecstatic about the elections in Sweden and Italy. You might be surprised and disappointed how much the far right is prepared to cosy up to fellow authoritarian regimes. (Not sure you can include Sweden in that, but the point still stands). It depends how you interpret it. If calling out twitters banning of a US president (while simultaneously allowing the Taliban, Iranian supreme leader and Chinese regime to post whatever they want) while merely pointing that so much of the stuff Trump predicted would happen, happened and indeed calling out the biggest obliteration of Western freedoms in your lifetime (covid scandal) makes me a big Trump fan then yeah I'd be delighted to be referred to as an avid Trump supporter. Even though I don't want him to run in the next US election.

Even though I don't want him to run in the next US election. That doesn't make sense either. Why would you not want someone who "got so much right" to run for presidency again? You sure you're not seeing Trump in a new light since his best buddy has invaded another country and he incited an invasion in his own homeland? And that most of what came out of his mouth, like the injecting bleach episode, was headshakingly moronic, and continues to be? I mean, if he'd really done such a great job and got so much right, how come he lost the election to a pre-senile old codger like Biden?

In a political sense you can apply that to Thatcher. In a footballing sense apply it to someone like Mourinho. Trump has had his moment and let's not forget, had it not been for covid and mail in ballots I think we both know he would have won in 2020 comfortably, rightly or wrongly. But your theory on the whole is totally flawed and I could just play you off against your own game. If the Conservative party you dislike so much keep winning elections, how can Labour possibly be a better bet if they lose election after election?

Isn't the bold bit basically saying "if it hadn't been for voters voting against him"? There's a good chance he only won in 2016 because of laws suppressing the turnout of perfectly legal voters in states like Wisconsin and North Carolina. It's modern Jim Crow in a lot of states.

If you're a Brit, live in England and support Trump......get a clue and devote your life to getting Stoke City promoted to the Premier League.
If you're a Brit, live in the USA and support Trump.......please leave, go back to the other place where you aren't needed.

DeSantis is pretty much untouchable. I had no idea who he was before the don’t say gay thing. And how anyone can vote for anything so petty and childish to bring in such a law is beyond me. Another vile piece of shit.

Another vile piece of shit. He’s done a remarkable job of building a campaign around attacking Disney (because there has to be a big bad) and finding a new way to appeal to some suburban voters (by attacking the public education system). I can’t stand him, but he’s definitely the heir to the Trump throne. I expect him to find a way to marry Ivanka some time in the near future.

There are 435 members of the House of Representatives. Maybe he’s losing it, or maybe his staffers are pretty crap. I imagine he’d had a conversation with her once or twice. She didn’t even get to the House until 2012, when Biden and Obama were packing their bags. She’s a Republican, so I doubt they were in regular conversation.

I think Biden deserves a break after this term tbh. Would much rather see a democratic candidate who's more energetic in changing things up. Especially with anti corruption laws, America needs a big dose of those.

Looks like his son Hunter is facing criminal tax charges plus one on lying on a form to get a gun.
It's good to see the FBI going after people with power. I'll judge Biden pretty strongly on his reaction to this.

I'll judge Biden pretty strongly on his reaction to this. He's already reacted. Unlike Trump, who says the FBI's investigation into his family is politically motivated and unwarranted, Biden has said the AG has a job to do and it's not within his (Biden's) remit to interfere, which is how it should be. OS.

Especially with anti corruption laws, America needs a big dose of those. The problem is that they wouldn’t get elected. You need a moderate in there to quell the Republican protest vote. Biden ran on his ability to “work on both aisles”, which has largely been false as even non-controversial bills now rarely receive bipartisan support. A lot of the DNC wouldn’t vote for someone who is far to the left either.

Not bad results for Sleepy Joe... www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-63612410In fact, the best in 20 years apparently. Hopefully, this means the end of the idiotic populism that took over the US under Trump, and the UK under Bozo, and we can get back to more sensible politics from more sensible people. Politics where you don't just lie day after day and, if something happens which you don't like, decide that it's 'fake news' or electoral fraud or similar nonsense.

Strange that after all the outrage on here over The Don, not a single post has been made about this happening for the second time... There is a substantial difference between 10 documents and 10,000. As well as knowingly you've kept them and refusing to hand them over after your presidency has come to an end.

Strange that after all the outrage on here over The Don, not a single post has been made about this happening for the second time... They date back to his time as VP under Obama don't they? Apparently he should never have had access to these documents never mind keep them. I wonder if the FBI will start doing some raids? Surely what's good for the goose is good for the gander?

Just a witch hunt, surely To be serious about it, anyone who is found to have broken the rules should be treated accordingly. However, as many of us pointed out as soon as those populist idiots Trump and Johnson took charge, once you start crying fake news every time you are caught with your trousers down (literally in Johnson's case!) then that particularly genie is out of the bottle and it's there for everyone to use as a 'defence' ever after. Hopefully, with the populist idiot era drawing to a close, we might return to a semblance of more 'normal' politics, where these kind of childish 'defences' are not put forward, but that requires a moral step upwards again from where we are, which is never easy for politicians of any hue.
