It's at the point now where it's hard to just find the articles/tweets in any thread Because there's just pages and pages of people talking about Bayernoatcake and him replying ffs. 🥱 This. People have a weird obsession on here with him. Granted I don’t post on here all that much but when I do I tend to read the point that’s been made rather than focus on specific posters. (FullerMagic being the exception to that rule!)

All the shots (12 left foot / 5 right, zero headers) at goal from AD in the Championship for Charlton. 0.13 xG per 90. 0.22 expected assists per 90. That puts him slightly above McClean for assists per 90 (0.19 xA/90) in his three seasons, Brown (0.19 xA/90) at Barnsley, well above Ince at Stoke (0.15 xA/90) & well above Verlinden in a lower grade in L1 for Bolton (0.14/xA/90)

This could be an absolute master stroke of a signing. It could also be a disaster but at 650k it’s a gamble we had to make. We have seen 15m signings go absolutely tits up so this is a no brainer. The lad comes with glowing reports, and has potential to go far. It’s up to us as a club now to try and help him fulfil that potential. Come on Alfie lad Plus he’s only 21! A calculated risk Eager to improve and develop his skills - great PR for our club who are working hard to attract such talents MON great stuff

Your first two offerings on the subject - "Interesting given his injury status. Lets hope it doesn't affect him." Glowing praise indeed, and " He was meant to be fit by the end of Jan, then Feb, now April. That's alarm bells right there surely?" No mention of it being 'an exciting signing but a gamble' or even 'a gamble worth taking because of his potential' you simply put the blackest interpretation possible on his injury situation and downplayed the signing. When I questioned you, you then tempered your doom and gloom with a more balanced assessment and that now becomes the new truth which you of course have sworn by all along. What's wrong with the first one? I hope it doesn't affect him there's nowt wrong with that. I've said all that in the thread previously when I was told weeks ago he was going to be a Stoke player Speaking of your ITKness, what's happening with the localish wonderkid?

Some of us just want to read the latest on Stoke. Like now, I want to read about our new signing but have to trawl through heaps of shit to get there.

Just seems like we're finally starting to put some sort of long term plan in place. Mclean's not getting any younger. Rabbi signed for short term competition( and sign if he's any good) Davies and Clarke for competition too and Doughty to compete for a place next season. If they don't all come off what have we lost. I much prefer this to signing ageing journeymen for silly money on equally silly wages.

Some of us just want to read the latest on Stoke. Like now, I want to read about our new signing but have to trawl through heaps of shit to get there. It needs saying. The "pick me bayern" competition that pads out every other thread is by far the most tiresome element of this messageboard and it has been, on and off, for the best part of a decade. People know he'll respond - as he has every right to - so when they see his name certain posters start lining up to tell him how wrong he is on every tiny detail, even on the most innocuous and uncontroversial points that have been made many times over by other people without issue. The irony is those same posters then accuse *him* of attention seeking. They actually think the reason that threads devolve into the bayern show is because of him. It's because of them. (and yes I'm aware I'm now contributing to it, tee hee. It's a point that needs making because it's an obstacle to proper conversation/debate on here. People need to stop getting so horny for him, he is but a man.)

And to get back on track, when's he going to be fit then? He mentioned in his interview he wants to get a few games in before the end of the season. So towards the end of the season at best, probably not until the season has finished.

It's true though isn't it. He's meant to be a speed merchant and the injury has every chance that it could damage that. We've been here before that's all. We've got him cheap and his wages will be peanuts compared to some of our expensive flops. He wasn't going to play for us anyway this season as if fit at the end of Feb he was going back there on loan. I'm guessing that having passed a medical we will have some sort of insurance on him if he has to end his career. I just don't see what the risk is really. His transfer fee and the wages for his entire contract are probably costing us less than one year of Wimmer's wages to put the risk in context.

I think the concern isn't so much that his career might be at risk, but that he might be significantly diminished by it. Hopefully he won't be.

And as irritating as it is when threads descend into the Bayern show, this is in fact a message board that is open for anyone to debate on as long as it’s in a reasonable and inoffensive manner. People can and will respond. Like you said, “It’s their right to”. In other words, when he comes out with his golden nuggets, I’m responding.😊👍

We've taken bigger risks on far more expensive players both fee and wages wise. Every player you buy or invest in in the academy could end up being not worth the effort or money. I can remember young fit players we've bought thought would be the next big thing who have never achieved our expectations. I'm sure we spent more on Verlinden and N'goy's development than the alleged £650,000 transfer fee.

Totally irrelevant at how to judge a deal now. And similarly if we were in the PL, I wouldn’t want us not to pay big fees because of that. Like with this you just hope they’ve learnt from the mistakes of previously similar deals. Not arsed about him not playing for us tbh, it’s the putting it back etc, it just seems a like a troubling thing. I just want us to have a good quick winger.
