Tonight may be a game too far at the moment if that injury news is correct. Cardiff will fight and spoil. Would be ecstatic with a 1-0 victory.

With such bad injury news the portacabin team might need to have some fresh blood for this one. Snakes? Spiders? Extended family of squatters?

If we're thin on the ground, could tonight be the night we see the return of Verlinden?...
By the way... you're all making tits of yourselves with the jokes...

Just said the same elsewhere, I think Verlinden might get more than a cameo tonight. A good chunk off the bench at least I reckon, but guess it depends on how the game plays out. Even if he is fit enough I'm not sure I'd risk Powell after Saturday. Do we play a stronger team in this one or the Derby game? My concern is that if we play two weak-ish sides today and Saturday, we won't win either but if we really go for one, we'll pick up three points. With the injuries we have, I'd be content with that (not that I want to lose any game). Tonight I think we might see: Bursik RB - Smith CB - Collins CB - Chester LB - Fox CM - Cousins CM - Tymon ACM - Powell LW - McClean RW - Campbell CF - Vokes

I'm refferring to Tom Sparrow, our talented Welsh midfielder. My attempt at humour failed miserably I see! I liked it. I wouldn’t be Raven about it and not really one to Crow about but it’s better than the usual standard on here!

I don't think he's that high up in the pecking order. No, but if - nearly - all our midfielders are out, he would be a better option than Vokes as an emergency midfielder... You're not the best at spotting bird puns.

Vokes should not even be on the bench - he is a completely busted flush

Vokes should not even be on the bench - he is a completely busted flush Which u-23 striker would you play? Because while they are young and hopeful none of our Academy strikers (Varian and Norton) are ready to fly for us. We've got an abundance of good defenders, very promising midfielders and very good keepers there. But the wannabe strikers that we did have have left us. So I would stick with Brown and keep Vokes very much on the bench. I'd like for him to stay there, but if we fall behind and are desperate, he at least knows where the goal is. So I'd give him 10 minutes to save our feathers... He scored 9 league goals for us last year, including some important ones towards the end of the season.

An excellent strategy. Keep Vokes poised and ready on the bench as a cloaked menace. The Cardiff players will be so distracted by his threatening presence that they will meanwhile lose concentration completely because of their nervous jitters and allow Tyrese to swoop in and grab a hatrick before they know what's hit them.
