Five midfielders injured by my count Maybe Mikel or Powell could be back though? If not then Cousins,Tymon and Oakley-Booth it is Bench might be without a midfielder? If Batth is out then either Ryan in or move Collins there with Smith back at RB. He could perhaps go 523 maybe? Ince is available Shouldn't that be whispered in small print?

I pray for Mikel to be bandaged up and wheeled out and for Powell to do his usual recovery from seemingly life threatening injuries. If so:
Bursik
Smith Collins Chester Fox
Mikel Cousins
Campbell Powell McClean
Brown
Subs: Lonergan, Shawcross, Tymon, Oakley-Boothe, Ince, Vokes, Verlinden

This is a tougher game on paper than Middlesbrough. They finished fifth last year and have improved their squad with the signings of Wilson and Moore.
They don’t seem to have been overly affected by injury unlike us, although I’m hoping a difficult game at Watford might have taken its toll. They might also have one eye on their derby against Swansea on Saturday.

Some have suggested we should have Porter on the bench, but who's to say he doesn't get to start the game. We could have Sparrow on the bench. just in case...

Is Tommy Sparrow on social meeja? If so, hopefully he’ll tweet some team news closer too. Personally, I think a swift call up to the squad to face The Bluebirds is the least he deserves, I hear he’s been flying in training. Surely he can’t be too far down the pecking order.
I wonder if his young teammate Porter can play wingback...

This has the potential to be a really important game for us even though it’s so early in the season.
Given the other fixtures if we win we’d definitely move up at least one place overtaking either Swansea or Bournemouth who play each other, potentially both.
One or two of the chasing pack will drop points too as Bristol play Blackburn.
Going to be a tough match with all the injuries but it makes a nice change looking at fixtures at the top end of the table.

Real tough one this, they will be almost as physical as Middlesborough and the question is whether we can patch up enough players to withstand the battering that is coming and come out the other side to try and play some football. The Championship is without doubt the hardest league to compete in, you need rough/tough battlers to get you established in the game and then enough quality to take the odd chance that may come your way. We've been on the right side of that most games, but I just hope that the mauling that Middlesborough gave to us injury wise hasn't depleted us to the extent that we struggle to compete physically.

Not as tough as the Boro game but bloody close, as the Boro game I’m not expecting much from this game, especially with our injury situation..!!!! There forum predicts an easy win for them...
Goarn Stoke surprise me again..!!!

This is another tough game as they all are it seems, but we have nothing to fear I believe.
Cardiff have had a poor season and have only come good in the last 3 games. Can they really win 4 on the trot? We haven't won 3 on the trot for over 4 years.
They have played 6 games against the top 10 sides and just won the once, last time out at Watford, where it appears they won against the run of play looking at the stats for possession, shots, clear cut chances etc.
We lost at Watford but we know that equalising goal by them was robbery.
We are due a goal or two from shots, instead of headers. We are long overdue a goal from a corner.
Cardiff don't score more than 2 away from home and it's high time we scored 3 again.

Hoping Batth back as been very good last two games and Mikel also. Could have done with a few more days for this one as so thin on the ground. Comes down to who is back for me not Cardiff themselves

I don't think he's that high up in the pecking order. No, but if - nearly - all our midfielders are out, he would be a better option than Vokes as an emergency midfielder...

Clucas, Batth and Powell all out according to SSN. Wouldn’t surprise me. Clucas is replaceable. Batth is, although he’s been in very good form recently. Not really sure Powell is though.

Battle of the front 3’s tonight,Moore,Ojo and Wilson are a very decent 3 as are ours but let’s hope we don’t give easy set plays away with Moore,Morrison and Nelson’s height along with Wilson’s dead ball quality.
