She said Ostigard was "no fairy" when comparing him to Wilmot who he'd just replaced.

every time someone says "I dont believe in fairies" one dies
if you accidentally say it and dont mean it, clapping helps

First time trying to listen to the match on radio stoke and the first 10 minutes no problem , now all I'm hearing is a repeated message say something about contractual or technical reasons it cannot be broadcast. Is this normal?

Did she call one of our players a fairy? Something along those lines No she said āheās not as light on his feet like a fairyā or something along those lines. She didnāt actually call him a fairy Fair enough, whatever she said exactly Iām pretty sure it was nothing for anyone to get upset about

Is this normal? if you are trying to listen online then yes Yes I am, so how are people able to listen? Thinking about it I think people are listening on normal local radio. That's probably my problem, I'm 200 miles away so not a local station for me. Thanks.

Nigel Johnson had a howler today, completely confused over the Stoke goal and then kept waffling on about the Vale
One problem was he had no co commentator

Listened to it in the car today, even the wife who knows very little about football said she could have done a better job;
- Didnāt know who scored - Thought Ty was on the pitch but wasnāt - Adebayor was playing at one point - Half way through a sub mentioned Swindon weāre winning without telling who the sub was - It was almost a complete surprise when Stoke scored - Ange kept whinging about it being scrappy and the amount of yellow cards; for the past month weāve been screaming out for game management - Nige had to constantly corrected by Ange
Iād have known more about the game if I hadnāt have listened! I hate to moan when Stoke have won because Iām genuinely over the moon but that service was a complete farce - legend he might be but just like players, maybe heās past his best!

Today was the first game of the season I had to miss and listened to the coverage on the radio. The subs made in the second half totally threw Nige and despite Ange's best efforts he just couldn't seem to get his head around things. I hope Nige is ok mentally and Physically.

tbh if they want to stay relevant they have a big few years ahead. He's the voice of Stoke City but even club legends have to retire in the end.
Everyone makes mistakes but if someone younger was making this many they would lose their role.

Heāll become the butt of jokes, complaints etc that will diminish his record/history as a presenter

Watching Louisville vs Miami and the American commentator said āheads go upā and itās a phrase Iāve never heard used by anyone bar Nige. Seemed very odd to hear it on a YouTube stream being watched by 647 people on the USL channel!

How many times have you sat at the match and said - "who passed that one" or "who scored that", etc. Its a very difficult job. I watched one game under lockdown on the stream and there was no commentary - it was incredibly difficult to see exactly who did what. I think Nige does a great job, try it yourselves before condemning him to the local charity shop.

I think Nige does a great job, try it yourselves before condemning him to the local charity shop. When I was a kid I remember Hugh Johns who was the master of getting player's names wrong. Still thought of by many as one of the best. I think we have a few waiting for Nige to make a mistake to have a moan. Either way , Radio Stoke won't be the same without him when he eventually calls it a day
