Burns Sibley Crawley (Lawrence if Crawley not fit) Root Stokes Pope Buttler Bess Leach Archer Anderson
Tough choice between Bess and Mo, went with Bess as I don’t see any kind of future for Mo in the test side whereas Bess is likely to be around for a while so the experience will be beneficial for him.
Looking forward to the series, my enthusiasm will no doubt be dampened when India close day one on 350-3 on an absolute road.

Looking at previous series the quicks have had quite a lot of success and I'm still unsure as to how many overs Stokes will be able to bowl. I wouldn't be surprised to see Buttler 6, Woakes 7, Bess/Moeen 8, Archer 9, Leach 10, Anderson/Broad 11......

I think Pope will play and it’ll be a choice between a third seamer and second spinner depending on conditions. So Pope at 6, Buttler at seven then a choice between Woakes, Moeen and Bess. Stokes ought to be able to bowl 10-12 overs I would imagine.

Anyone know what the commentary line up is on Channel 4? They are using the Indian Star Sports commentary team with Mark Butcher and Nick Knight amongst some Indian commentators. I’ve heard Alistair Cook will be bookending the action in the studio amongst others but not sure who’s confirmed.

I wonder whether they may add to it from the 2nd test with an analyst and maybe a couple of other ex-pros, obviously for the first test it's all been a massive rush........

You’d imagine Channel 4 would like to get the ladies involved. I like Isa Guha to be honest. Just please no monotone ERB, she could send a glass eye to sleep. Be good to see a spinner who’s played in India, Monty would make great viewing I think!

Good a player as Swann was he’s a smarmy Billy Big Bollocks. Always remember when he walked out half way through the ashes tour and Bob Willis said he’d escaped on the lifeboat with the women and children🤣

The good thing about it being on Channel 4 is that they have a +1 channel so I might look to get an extra hour of sleep and not miss the start. I am a bit concerned that some of England's top order will be quite rusty, particularly Burns and Pope. Sending Bairstow home is looking increasingly like a mistake now that Crawley is injured.

Being the eternal pessimist I cant see anything but a pasting for England here. India are too bloody good.
Would love to be made to look a fool though.
Great to have Cricket back on regular tele. I got up at 5am this morning as part of my preparation for this one!

And the floodgates have opened. Brilliant.
About 50 camera shots of Lawrence yawning his head off before he went in to bat didn't exactly fill me with confidence.......

That reverse swing came from nowhere seemingly. If it's going to play a part in the test, we've got a couple of experts in that department.
