Sadly local press seem to believe they’ll be no points deduction🙄 But what sense is a fine to a club in financial difficulty. Madness, as it pushes them closer to liquidation/admin which they are purportedly trying to stop. As does a points deduction in fairness.

He is mate although I’d say he’s abit more in the know than Spinks was,big Everton fan as well They're obviously worried about something if they were threatening Percy with legal action 10 days ago. You'd be more than a bit pissed off if you were a Wendies fan and they do get away with it. I also hope Scholes has got all our player valuation/depreciation nailed down as well because what they've been done for sounds remarkably like what we've done in the accounts this year. Albeit we've also had some leeway due to Covid.

Surely it has to be this season? Wycombe should be getting lawyers onto this ASAP.

uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/derby-county-lose-efl-legal-142412108.htmlJohn Percy Mon, 10 May 2021 In a development which could have huge ramifications for the Championship club, who avoided relegation by one point on Saturday, the Football League are understood to have won their appeal over a charge of breaching financial rules.
The charge relates to Derby’s policy over the amortisation of intangible assets - how the purchase price of a player is spread over a contract - and sanctions were initially dropped earlier this year.
But the EFL appealed, with the hearing held over the weekend of March 20-21, and the verdict by an independent disciplinary commission has now been delivered.
Derby insisted on Thursday April 29 that no decision has been reached, when contacted by Telegraph Sport, and submissions were still being made by their legal team.
The EFL has also previously declined to comment, only stating that the process is ongoing.
However, multiple sources have alleged that the EFL have succeeded with their appeal, and Derby are now facing potential sanctions.
It is doubtful that any punishment will be imposed until next season, which could range from a points deduction to a fine.
Under EFL regulations, it is understood there is no possible recourse for Derby to challenge the decision.

If there were to be a points deduction, you can bet that had Derby been relegated on Saturday they would have wanted the points deducted this season.
The whole thing is a mess and the administrators of the EFL make Scholes look almost competent.

I hope to god this is true and Derby go this season.
1) So I can piss myself even more at those tin-pot celebrations at the weekend 2) So the media will stop the Rooney wank fest 3) Because it's Derby

Due to when the case was brought and when it was appealed, they SHOULD deduct the points this season or they are guilty of shafting Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham & Wycombe in the process. Definitely worth a call to the solicitors for those 3 teams!

I'm intrigued with this and the amortisation of players.
Because it's what we have done too.
Have we done it correctly?
Did we do it after Derby won the initial case and are now shitting it because they lost?
I have no idea and am merely speculating because it's immediately where my thought process when I read about what they're being sanctioned for.

There is absolutely no way the EFL should pass this complete con man as fit and proper. Expect him to be unveiled as Derby's new owner in the next 24 hours.

Regarding Nixon's tweet in your quote I thought one of them said yesterday Derby had no right of appeal against the appeal decision?

The difference is that this year clubs were given dispensation to write off more because of greater the depreciation of assets (player value) because of Covid. I think/hope.
