I blame Brian Clough I remember him playing for Sunderland! Played more than 3 times as many games for Middlesbrough though.

Really I did not know that why we dont we make all our big earners player coaches and half our ffp wage problem. It’s not true, the only adjustments that can be made to the losses for FFP purposes are things like youth development and the women’s side of it. If it was true clubs could go all out and recruit some of the best managers around - as oppose to lower league ones. I stand corrected (and admittedly misremembered, having read a lot of the actual rules). This does apply at League One and League Two level, but not at Championship. But with Mad Mel in charge, who knows what they are up to.

Any players that we could put a cheeky bid in for😁 Not sure that we could get them without worrying about our own FFP issues but given the chance i'd happily take that Jack Marriot (not playing for them atm anyway is he?), Nathan Byrne (who i wanted us to sign to replace Smith) and Jozwiak. Also Lawrence if only to further our Wales contingency, plus hes pretty solid player haha!

Yes those I was aware, the special exemptions for covid related costs in the next two financial years are interesting as there is scope "to write off potential loss of future earnings due to pandemic decreasing the value of their playing squad". Based on this Stoke should be able to push through partial write offs on the likes of Woods, Ince, Bauer, Afobe and maybe even the likes of Wimmer, Badou, Etobo we might be able claim loss of loan fees etc and so take some of their transfer fee and wages outside of FFP.

You'd imagine that is something personal dressing room wise rather than ability. I always thought he was one of their better players and they looked better when he played but he wasn't always picked. Don't know how he's doing at Wednesday.

Waghorn and Tom Lawrence available??🤔😁 Never seen Tom Lawrence do anything. I always thought he was on a par with Ince when they were both there and he has a good free kick but he was one of the culprits in that accident which injured Keogh, who escaped punishment because he was obviously more important to Derby. Not sure he's the sort of character MON would want in the dressing room.

I wonder if the fact that Derby have come out publicly and said they’re preparing to sell the Crown Jewels is an attempt by Morris to hurry the buyout up.

It would be unbelievable if Derby went into administration for Marshall and Byrne who had exactly the same issue with Wigan last season

He may need to rethink his playing retirement if the fire sale is too brutal.

The last time we ransacked a club on the brink of financial ruin we ended up with Maurice Edu and Jamie Ness!
