RIP Fullback in my first season as a supporter 82/83. Think he left fairly soon after I'm fairly sure his last game for us would have been the 4-0 v Wolves that saved us from relegation in the 83/84 season.

RIP Peter. Was our left back when I started going regularly in the early 80’s as a 10-13yr old. In fact I’ve got a team that just rolls off my tongue as simple as the alphabet does simply because of the fascination it gave you as a child. Fox Evans Hampton Dodd Watson Bracewell Griffiths Maguire Chapman O’Callaghan Heath
I may or may not have that spot on without research but that 11 rolls off my tongue at 50yrs old for some reason. What I can vaguely remember he was a very decent Left back. Would arguably have got into any of our teams from then until present day. RIP

Used to recite something very similar, its mad how obsessed you used to be at that age particularly with zero TV coverage. Of course in later in years when trying to recall it with me brother, having developed more exotic tastes, we used to refer to him as Peter Frampton and recited that same team changing that one name. Its the natural order of things of course but wish my childhood would stop dying quite so quickly. RIP Peter.

Scored 4 goals for us and the only one I can remember was against West Ham when we scored 5 I think Was it Phil Park es? Caught him at his near post didn't Alan Devonshire try to dribble in our box and Hampton ended up chasing him all the way back to the half way line to huge cheers?

One of our better players over the years and as shown by the posts on this thread, thought of fondly by Stoke fans who saw him play.
RIP Peter and sincere condolences to family and friends.

Sounds very sudden, I wonder what got him?
I recall Peter Hampton coming down to Lyme Valley Squash Club in Newcastle (now sadly gone and the site occupied by Homebase) back in the day and handing out the prizes for a competition there as guest of honour.
66 is no age
RIP Peter
