If we insist on playing the 3-5-2 with wingbacks, I’d love to see him up top supporting Ty Campbell. I think that would be a devastating combo

I suspect he is a dilemma for our manager - a manager that does not accept any player that is not 100% up for the cause.
Powell is one of our few creative players but needs to get from up his own arse and start reaching his maximum potential - I suspect he is not of the character that matches our manager's expectations - but a manager that can see he has potential - but may well be getting fed up with his poncy attitude on a football field.
Needs to man up stop rolling about on the floor anytime a player gets within 3 yards of him and start making a difference on a regular basis - if he does not he will soon be fecked off.

If that’s an accurate representation of what the manager thinks then he’s an idiot. Powell gets routinely targeted, makes the most of the fouls he receives (which he is well within his rights to do and is to our advantage) and is one of the hardest workers on the pitch when he plays.

If Powell is allowed to play further forward he is by far our most influential player but if he is being asked to play deeper it stifles his contribution and I feel Tashan would be a better option.

He's an immensely gifted footballer. Reading an article in a paper today where Wenger was describing Bendtner: "Sometimes you find the qualities and sometimes we do not find the key"

Powell is grossly over rated and hardly effective. Time MON realises this and sells him fast. No great loss. What a plonker

Get Powell playing to his full potential and we more than likely get promoted.

Not fishing, but apart from drawing fouls, what exactly has he shown for us that he is good at?
Our results have apparently been better with him in so he's obviously doing something for the good of the team, i just don't see what it is.
I see a player who works hard, pretty good in the air, especially for a "creative" type, but who makes many poor passing decisions, rarely executes a decent finish, is unlikely to go past a player and who really doesn't seem to fit the tactics we've been playing.

Apart from the goals, assists and key passes that helped create goals between January and March you mean? Plus the goal against Reading and bossing it in the demolition of Barnsley? Seriously, have they invented those memory eraser Men in Black pen things during lockdown or something?

He works his knackers off Never said he did not run about(that should be a minimum for every player) - and as stated on his day is one of our best players and I want him to do well - probably our only real creative talent. His attitude is sometimes suspect though, his head drops a little, you can visibly see him getting fed up and he does go down every time anybody goes near him - last year he seemed to get sent off on purpose in one of the games that was not going our/his way and he was hammered by just about everybody on here for it - including some who are now defending him I personally would still stick him in the starting 11 every day of the week - my comments are from what we have seen so far from our manager - who does not look like the type of manager who will play a player who is not made of the right stuff for the full 90mins week in week out - You have to admit he has not had the best start to the season(systems aside) - and our manager has obviously thought the same as he would not have dropped him for the Preston game. I would start him though - he is the only player who offers something different and I think we don't look like scoring if he or Campbell are not on the pitch - our manager, as stated, may have a different opinion and I certainly think he is not reaching his full potential for whatever reason at the moment and therefore, yes, needs to start making a difference on a regular basis - of which he is capable of

He scored and assisted 5 league goals last year, what would you expect him to achieve this year? What would be a good/poor season for him? For someone who receives the ball all the time and takes lots of hopeful passes and shots I'd like to see him hit 10/10 goals and assists.

He was only in the team from January and was instrumental in pretty much every good result in that time bar the last couple of games. It’s not just the assists but the pre-assists where he’s found someone with a great ball or a piece of skill and they’ve then teed up the scorer. If he’s played in his best position and stays fit he could/should get double figures for goals and assists.

The difference between the two sides I thought. He made things happen and put so much work in too. And the kicking he gets each game is fucking ridiculous.
