Great to hear he played 75 minutes today.
Welcome back, Joe.
And we beat the Baggies 4-3, memories of that great game that kick-started our promotion season back in 92.

just thinking the same. I'm not sure there is a first choice nowadays, especially in this truncated season. Assuming we play 4.2.3.1 then we have Mikel Clucas and Allen competing for 2 places depending on form, fitness and the opposition. I think most managers in this division would be quite happy with that. On current form we could probably include Cousins in that. Then we have Thompson, Tymon and Oakley-Booth for backup Do we know what Oakley-Booth's preferred / best position is? Sitting? Attacking mid? Wide mid? Can't say he's stood out much yet (though, of course, there's time aplenty for him to develop) I’m sure we signed him as a sitting midfielder but he’s looked better further forward on the rare occasions he’s played. Having said that it’s rare a defensive midfielder gets noticed

In the 15 minutes I saw before the stream went down he looked well off the pace. Think it’ll be a few weeks yet before he’s considered personally

More than anything you need time to build up the mental strength to know you can do what you used to do without hesitation.

Did you receive the exact rehab that Joe has? I’m not being sarcastic toward you but I just think there’s probably a difference. I suffered exact same back problems as Shawcross before he did. Guess what, I’m still fucked!!

Guess what, I’m still fucked!! No but, I was a US Olympic trials athlete. Not good enough to make the team but still at a descent level. Physically it can vary which is why I did not bring that into my comment. I agree fully on that part, it is depending on where the tear was, how your body heals and what your rehab was. Mentally trying to get over questions about your body is almost universally difficult. Yes, there are some who can just overcome that quickly and I hope Joe is one of them.

I've had breaks, muscle tears and dislocations. The breaks mend just as good as before in my experience. The tears and dislocations, there's always a nagging doubt. We'll just have to see with Joe.

He was his usual self first half although he's cut his hair, he looked about 12. Second half didn't notice him but Albion had clearly had a bollocking

MON said he wasn't far away Mikel Allen and Clucas be very tidy for second half of the season. If we can add a player or two in Jan then who knows.

I think he may well be involved in some way. I can see him maybe starting in the cup tie against Leicester.

We need as many bodies back as we can and to say Allen won't make a difference etc is utter nonsense.

That wasn't how the game was. I know it looks like an exciting game of two halves but both sides pretty much scored most of their chances. Albion were better than Stoke second half but it was hardly the Alamo.

He’s awful and has been one of the biggest reasons we got relegated and nearly got relegated again on the pitch. Us capitulating like that with him on the pitch is exactly what you’d expect. It’s what we’ve done since he signed.

Seen more exciting 0.0 draws

I wouldn't say he's awful. But he certainly hasn't been missed as much as some people like to make out. Cousins is growing on me but it's damning of Joe's ability if Cousins is replacing him and we look better.
Is it good that he's fit? Yes, probably. But if everyone was fit, he'd be on the bench.

Assuming he’s fully recovered, he should be ok so long as he’s playing alongside Cousins.

Allen is a big asset to the squad. He can score goals too which we will need in next half of the season.

When Joe puts in his next top performance, breaking up play, making assists, it'll be a measure of Bayern's maturity and humility is he feels able to acknowledge it on this board. I'm not holding my breath.
