Talk of Wimmer being loaned to Karlsruhe - but mention of Stoke paying all/nearly all of his wages Liverpool and Burnley looking for centre half too, Burnley might throw in a cheeky bid

Talk of Wimmer being loaned to Karlsruhe - but mention of Stoke paying all/nearly all of his wages At this point, you have to wonder if it’s worth it? Even if he did amazing (huge if) it’s highly unlikely a team would want to pay his wages and a make a permanent transfer offer. If they are going to pay next to no of his wages, then let him sit on the U23s bench and watch his “career” rot away.

The KSC is dealing with a last-minute loan from Stoke player Kevin Wimmer. Eichner is said to have already contacted the defender. Stoke would continue to take over his salary.

We have to try and get him in the shop window and hope he does well. Even if it means we get rid of half of his wages then it helps.

Cant they give him other duties within his capabilities... litter picking that kind of thing? If Stoke are going to pay his wages, surely it's better to get some use out of him

Our undoubtedly worst ever signing. I heard one story that someone at the club admitted this had been a mistake only 3 days after he signed.

The insane fee and sky high wages, that's down to Scholes

I get the point, though at the same time I’ll try to balance with this: given the likely small size of the recruitment department, would it be better for Stoke to spend their time hunting for young prospects rather than soaking it up trying to get rid of players that are highly unlikely to command any type of fee, or by trying to loan them to clubs who will pay 5-10% of their wages (if they do take them at all). How much time and resources were spent trying to get Bauer and Wimmer out in summer? All of these are hypotheticals of course, we’ll likely never know.

I would not help him to have a career after Stoke at all.
Refuse the bid unless Wimmer agrees to take a paycut.

Wimmer was just shite, didn’t seem disruptive He's close to the top of a long list of abject permanent signing failures, as you say I would put Imbula at the top, Berahino, Wimmer, Ince, Afobe, Etebo, Bruno N, Bauer, Vokes, Smith, and Lindsay, chuck in the expensive freebie and loan failures it's a clusterfuck of gross incompetence.

Zero point if they aren’t contributing anything towards his wages, may as well stay in the under 23s or at home.

He does need to play though.
He needs to get back on the bike and be a footballer. If he doesn't, noone's going to even have a glance at him in the summer
He hasn't played for 12 months. If he leaves it any longer, he may as well retire.
Understandably, nobody higher up the food chain that a German 2nd Div team, paying none of his wages, is willing to potentially have a risky nibble.
