It makes you wonder if a huge fee can negatively impact on a player's footballing ability. If we had paid £1.8 million would have been as bad? Yep!

Wonder why there is not the usual video showing off his talents? He hasn't got any talents except eating too much!

Fair play to him for taking the pay cut.
Hopefully he’s part of the £89m loss with his written down value included in that.
Such a bad signing, considering we basically swapped Muniesa for him.l for a £18m outlay + whatever the wage difference was.
He has to be out worst ever signing doesn’t he, incredible to think he hasn’t played for us for 3 and a half years!
Hopefully he’s the first of many and we can start trying to rebuild.

This somewhat scuppers our "We can't get rid of our overpaid dead wood due to Covid" FFP sob story. Or does it? We could only get rid of him because he kindly agreed to cancel his contract?

I think we could only allow him to cancel the contract due to us writing down his value due to covid. I think this supports our narrative.

Good riddance ,in my opinion our worst ever signing . In terms of value for money yes - with some stiff competition! purely judging on his ability, nah we have had dozens of worse players Thats what I mean ,monetary value

Hopefully we made a few million out of the deal, breaking even can’t be expected but somewhere around 6-8mil would be good. He has played in the top flight and has age on his side too.

He has to be out worst ever signing doesn’t he, incredible to think he hasn’t played for us for 3 and a half years! He actually has, this season. He played a number of games for the u23s in the autumn. Can't remember how many, but he did alright. Not especially good, not especially bad. We didn't swap Muniesa for him. Muniesa wanted to go somewhere he would play every week, we wanted a player who was fit every week, or at least every so often. He wasn't able to get that, until possibly in his far away latest club. We also didn't get what we wanted. The real loss was that Muni totally bought into the club ethos. Him and Bojan. I can't think of a player we've signed since who does that. Not McCLean, not Clucas, not Powell. I mean Nick is great for us, but he still hates us.

We'll be lucky to get £6-8...I kid you not. Everyone knows his history with us and that we are dying to get rid of him. It does not make for a bargaining position. If we do demand £££££££s, he'll just run down his contract and sign for free next summer. Age is on his side. He could have a ten year career somewhere.

Tbf to him he could of sat on his contract ( he was fully entitled to do that ) but he has agreed to walk away from it Credit to him for doing that I really, really tried to feel this way mate. But then I remembered how he hasn’t earned a single penny of his grossly inflated wages for the last three and a half years. And before you say it, I know it’s the club who agreed to the deal. Let’s hope he is the first of many this summer.

I reckon we'll have saved £350.000 in wages we were to pay but now are not to pay. We might sign a quarter Jacob Brown for that sum or less.

There's some degree of irony in Kevin Ten Chins signing for a team called Rapid.
Hope they hide the schnitzels from him.

I'd be staggered if we'd got as much as a million for him. Will we have got a fee? It never entered my mind that we would. Austrian report says free transfer. Fee always looked very optimistic! kurier.at/sport/fussball/vertrag-bis-2023-rapid-wien-praesentiert-transfercoup-kevin-wimmer/401395143Contract until 2023: Rapid presents Transfer Coup Kevin WimmerAfter terminating his contract in Stoke, the 28-year-old from Wels moved to Hütteldorf. The central defender comes free of charge. The last step towards the transfer was a waiver: Kevin Wimmer terminated his extremely well paid contract with Stoke a year before it was due to end. After the British have submitted the necessary signature, that of the Upper Austrian in Hütteldorf is also valid: Kevin Wimmer has officially been Rapidler since Friday.

That figure looks a bit random He's got to have been on at least £1.5m a year and quite possibly/probably over £2m a year with one year left on his contact Austrian media implied that the player was taking a hit providing we asked for no fee. Doubt we will ever know exactly what deal has been done but all the same it's a saving wasn't expecting
