Somebody’s got to do Vokes’ running about for him. He’ll be shouting fetch everytime Smith lobs one of his 60 floaters up.

He is giving several of the "kiddies" a chance to show what they can do against tough opposition - Souttar, Collins, Thommo, TOB, Tymon. Attacking reinforcements on the bench if we need to chase it late on, I see - none of which are Ince?!!???! Can we be lucky enough to have found a buyer?

Interesting. Left out Butland completely. Must be close to move. Otherwise he’d be in squad and cuptied.

Who’s playing left wing back then? www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/wolves-stoke-city-team-news-4525307Michael O'Neill stays with wing-backsAdam Davies, Tommy Smith, Bruno Martins Indi - who is captain against his old manager, and Sam Vokes are the ones who keep their places tonight. Josh Tymon will be on the left of a midfield three, next to Jordan Thompson and Tashan Oaley-Boothe. It’s Lee Gregory and Sam Vokes up front and Smith and McClean as the wing-backs. That's a very lightweight midfield. TOB and Tymon are creative, but neither of the three are defensively sound. McClean was a disaster the last time he played wingback, but I'm sure he'll run a baout a lot. It's also a very youthful team in several places.

Just remember that our best XI would probably lose by 5 or 6 to the side they’ve put out tonight

This depends on Wolves attitude If they are at it then we surely have no chance If they half arsed and we take whatever chances we get you never know.
I'd imagine Stoke would be long odds to make the next round

Blackpool game Bruno and MacLean were miles apart and their speedy RW had a field day first half. Second half Bruno and MacLean sorted that out, annoyed me that it took the manager to sort that out at HT rather than the players on the pitch working it out after 15 minutes or so. Can't afford that tonight, even fully switched on they are going to have a hard time

The cup tied bit is the least of a purchasing clubs issue these days ....it’ll be the getting injured part of it Either way, with Ince omitted too, fingers crossed somethings developing. Same for Butland also. 🤔

What are the kids supposed to prove tonight against that lot, when the first team would get hammered?

I'd like to use it to give a few a run out who did not start at Millwall (or for the under-23s) - save for McClean, who I'd keep back for a start on Sunday - and also try a few in other positions where they could play, but still putting out a team to give it a go: Davies (so Jack is not cup tied ahead of his move) Collins Souttar Bruno Brown Ince Thompson Oakley-Boothe Tymon Vokes Gregory Then Sunday, go for: Davies Smith Batth Chester Fox Mikel Clucas Campbell Powell McClean Fletcher I got 9 of the starting line up right - not bad! Surprised Jimmy Mac is starting and that Ince is nowhere to be found in the 18 man squad - starting on Sunday (replacing Jimmy Mac in my starting XI), leaving or injured? Not risking Butland being cup tied is a telling sign too. Hopefully not cup tying Mince is too!

I don’t get that with the fantastic job he did for us last season there’s still a section of our support quite obviously aching for MON to fail.
Crazy.
