Surely a run out for those who aren't nailed on for Sunday:
Butland
Edwards Collins Shawcross Souttar Tymon
Oakley-Booth Cousins Thompson
Gregory (Brown or Campbell)
Subs: Ince, McClean and Fletcher a bit of game time.
If 532 is the favoured formation may as well get everyone familiar with it so they can slot in when required.

All very well having a plan B and C for certain games but I don’t like the idea of 3-5-2 one week then 4-3-3 the next followed by a 4-2-3-1. I’m hoping he’s decided to stick with a formation for the majority of the season no matter what it is. I personally prefer the 4-2-3-1 with the personnel we have but if he’s playing 3 at the back he should stick with it.

Surely Edwards, Shawcross and Cousins won’t play after Monday?
It’ll be interesting to see if he tries Brown as a wing back or just plays Smith.
Tbh no one who is starting on Sunday should start this one imo, I don’t get why you’d risk it?

Think we'll see a 541 tonight, with Vokes up front on his own.

I'd like to use it to give a few a run out who did not start at Millwall (or for the under-23s) - save for McClean, who I'd keep back for a start on Sunday - and also try a few in other positions where they could play, but still putting out a team to give it a go: Davies (so Jack is not cup tied ahead of his move) Collins Souttar Bruno Brown Ince Thompson Oakley-Boothe Tymon Vokes Gregory Then Sunday, go for: Davies Smith Batth Chester Fox Mikel Clucas Campbell Powell McClean Fletcher I got 9 of the starting line up right - not bad! Surprised Jimmy Mac is starting and that Ince is nowhere to be found in the 18 man squad - starting on Sunday (replacing Jimmy Mac in my starting XI), leaving or injured? Not risking Butland being cup tied is a telling sign too.

Adama Traore running at Bruno/McCLean will at least bring some much needed comedy.

We must be getting some sort of right back in surely. Edwards is clearly dead to him, you cannot go into a 50 game season with just one (barely) viable option.

Yikes - very strong side from Wolves. At least we had a nice little run of clean sheets - more of matter of how many Wolves will score tonight than whether they will. Hopefully we can keep it from turning into a rout - a pasting here is not the kind of mood we need to be setting at the beginning of the season

Who’s playing left wing back then? www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/wolves-stoke-city-team-news-4525307Michael O'Neill stays with wing-backsAdam Davies, Tommy Smith, Bruno Martins Indi - who is captain against his old manager, and Sam Vokes are the ones who keep their places tonight. Josh Tymon will be on the left of a midfield three, next to Jordan Thompson and Tashan Oaley-Boothe. It’s Lee Gregory and Sam Vokes up front and Smith and McClean as the wing-backs.
