The most tedious question of the last decade is who’s best, Ronaldo or Messi. If they played together it’d be intriguing. Now that would be a curveball. I can't decide if I'd prefer Messi to come to the Premier League or go to Juve now...

Personally I'd like to see him on Celebrity Masterchef, with Greg ("luckiest man on the planet") Wallace bellowing in his lug-hole.
Either that or on Countdown with Suzy "Dictionary Corner" Dent.

€60,395,769 is £54 million a year, so over a million a week. If he does go then they'd better have deep pockets.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see him stay at Barca, get a new contract and this just be a massive political move at the club.
Options if he does move - City (Pep, Money, Success), Other PL team (Money, Possible Success), PSG/Juve (Money, Success), MLS (Beat Ronaldo to the retirement league, cause a boom), Argentina (Retire in peace and rack up a load more goals and assists)
Chances are he stays in my eyes although I’d love to see him play in England or in the same league/team as Ronaldo

The journalist who was first to break the Neymar to PSG story and reported over a week ago that Messi wants to leave Barca says Messi wants to move to Man City.

I know this is incredibly wishful thinking. But just go boca for a few years, he can’t need anymore money There’s no romance at all in that though, unlike Maradona or Tévez for example. Successful South American players almost always go back to their roots and finish off their career where they started - Messi never played in Argentina and has no connection with Boca and their fans, he’s not even from Buenos Aires.

Messi wants to leave. Koeman persuades Messi to stay. Barcelona president lauded for appointing Koeman. Unlikely, I know. But I wouldn't be surprised with Barca. Will be funny when they replace him with Neymar though. Except Koeman already told Messi to his face that he was nothing special. Until very recently that sort of statement would have meant Koeman was already out of a job.

Until very recently that sort of statement would have meant Koeman was already out of a job. When did he say that? (genuine q) He's an absolute mentalist saying that. Edit: just seen it

It should mean he’s out of a job now. Messi is still the best player in the world and carries that team. But he is quite possibly not the best player in office politics, probably because he never wanted to take part. But he's offended the club president Bartaumo (sp?) and of course with Koeman there now, well we know his opinion about himself was never modest.

It wouldn't surprise me if he finished his career in Argentina. He doesn't need the money at this point. Part of him has probably always wanted to, just like a lot of old pros. But even if he pays up a membership card in Rosario, there's just one thing he's forgotten. Nobody knows him apart from tv obviously and nobdoy is evn one bit close to his level, so going back will probably just lead to more frustration.
