I see Wigan have pulled out of a 1m deal to sign him as he's too similar to Heskey?
For 1m I think he would be a decent addition to the squad though we would still need to bring in another top quality striker.

Great shout. The guy done well at Wigan last season and is a good experienced striker, right of the TP mould. Big, black and powerful.
I think he would be right up TP's street.

Yes I noticed that and I agree - at £1 million he would be well worth a punt. Typical TP type player.

Also with our elected mayor and the up and coming gay march, he would fit right in.

A million quid for a player who scored a hat-trick in the top flight last year is, in this day and age, a bargain I'm very surprised Bruce has pulled out of the deal as Bent seemed to impress last year. One bad note....he did used to play for Vale

I've always thought of him as a bit of journeyman myself but, if we are working with the 'better than what we've got' principle', than he'd be a good signing.

If Nugent is worth 3mil then for that is fantastic. I also think Bent is a better player than Nugent so 1mil would be bargain.

I honestly think that he will be great if we are chasing a game and we have someone like mama flicking on, his pace could terrorise defences.

Bent has a rotten attitude and hated living in Stoke when he was with us, he didn't like the nightlife. Play him out of position and he throws his toys right out of the pram.
In saying that he was treated badly by Horton.

We'll let him commute from Manchester then. Most of the problem at Vale was Horton playing him on the wing, wasn't it? Is he still going out with Gemma Atkinson? If so, Vanessa Hoefkens, eat your heart out!

I wonder what Sibierski would cost? It seems from that report that he may want a move?

Now that would be a good buy sibierski ive allways liked him.

Sibierski would fit the TP profile. Very experienced and versatile - as an attacking midfielder or striker. OK, I wouldn't want a team of 33 year olds but the odd one or two wouldn't do us any harm at all if they were good enough.

Wouldn't be a bad buy that at all - just as long as you have a good goalscorer with him. He's not one for the goals but he puts himself about well, great team player. Played a massive role when we finished 4th

Goota agree with fornside i dont really want to see a team full of older player id like to see some young fresh lads. But i really think we need to grab a quality striker for this season i dont think the likes of fuller and sidbe are going to score that many.

By all accounts he did very well at wigan, i would for us to sign him, he fits Pulis' mandate for a player too, big strong (black lol) works arrrrd, .... sign him up Tone. I always liked him at Everton as well, and i wouldn't mind seeing that Gemma Atckinson down the Brit either

Bent - dodgy hair patches aside -would be a good addition - Sibierski on the other hand is well past it - just what we need eh lads? pay 10k a week to someone who can come on for the last 10 minutes, stroll around and never score. Good idea!
Considering that we only have 4 first team players up to premiership standard we need to be adding quality starters not past it luxury bench warmers!

Does no body else think that £1 million for an average 30 year old striker isnt that good of a deal. Ismael Miller springs to mind £950,000 for an under 21 england international
