I'm calling it now - Jimmy Mac for our player of the season next year. I was only a year out - not bad.

After the season we’ve had, it’s embarrassing to have a player of the season award. What's even more embarrassing is that only 6,000 'fans' could be bothered to vote in the poll. Hardly 'red and white' DNA?

Congratulations to James McClean.
If in your speech you vow to do this and that how about vowing never to cup your ears to your team's supporters again?

After the season we’ve had, it’s embarrassing to have a player of the season award. Luckily the 6,000 fans who voted (including me) were not in the least embarrassed. And I suspect that most Stokies were not embarrassed whether they voted or not. Still, it is good that not everyone feels the same way - there should always be room for a few flat earthers!

Self-appointed football snob? No snobbery about it. It's proven time and time again. Proven in your little world, maybe. Others may not accept your proof or even your arguments but that's never stopped you appointing yourself up as the arbiter of right and wrong?

Well said, LP. I voted, and I’m not ashamed to say it was for McClean, although it was a close call between him or Clucas. My reasoning was, that in a season of nadir and resurgence and mini-troughs and mini-peaks, McClean always played for the shirt. It was a quality that I had admired even before he came to Stoke. Reminds me of SJW with his Duracell energy levels and enthusiasm. We need more like him in the dressing room.

Congratulations to James McClean. If in your speech you vow to do this and that how about vowing never to cup your ears to your team's supporters again? Think you've got the wrong player pal. He hasn't. He did it against Luton, and subsequently apologised after. Same game as Joe Allen did it.

Hardly 'red and white' DNA? I'm amazed 6000 fans could be arsed vote. The most expensivly assembled squad in the division with the highest wage bill to boost. And we spent 90% of the season in the relegation zone. Jones lost the plot and the transfer team have a lot to answer for but for many parts of the season the players were a joke and treated the club and fans with contempt. Allen and McLean ear cupping cus they didnt like a bit truth from the support when the most expensive squad in the league were rock bottom showed them up. Michael O Neil deserves all the praise for getting enough performances out of these lot that saved us. The fact he has been voted player of the season sums us up, very little quality he wouldn't get in any of the top 6 teams of the division starting line up

Proves my point re your average Stoke fans football knowledge. In what has been an up and down, overly long, mainly poor season, I voted for Clucas, but have no problem with McClean getting the nod...why do you think your opinion is more valid than anyone else's? Who are you?

Take your pick, there’s plenty of shit in our history. This season doesn’t even count as a wet fart in your pants by comparison.
