It isn’t silly I’m just trying to explain that goalkeepers who save everything, catch all crosses and distribute with pin point accuracy are as rare as rocking horse shit and certainly wouldn’t be attracted by a bottom half championship club. As far as I’m concerned Davies has contributed to far better defensive performances, hasn’t made any errors leading to goals or even chances and has brought more confidence to the defence. That is undeniable isn’t it? Most teams in this league have better goalies than us. He’s been ok yeah. I don’t think we’ve been better defensively particularly either bar today. It’s as clear as day the defence has improved, don’t be daft

Judging by Oneil’s comments post match I’m not sure the turn around in players that we want and need will be that achievable due to FFP. I think we may be disappointed with our dealings due to the poor signings of previous managers. It certainly sounds like it’s going to be a case of selling before we can buy. Apart from probably Woods it’s going to be very difficult trying to get rid of the players currently out on loan. You’d have to think Badou, Etebo and Wimmer will all be going out on loan again. Hopefully we can shift Butland and BMI, that would be two of the highest earners off the books without really weakening the squad.

Even today there was too many half chances for my liking but the difference with blocks and tackling was there. As I’ve put somewhere. Hopefully none of the back 5 from today start next season. We need better.

Yes they has some half chances but fuck me they’re second in the league they’re bound to create some goal scoring opportunities whoever they’re playing. I think that’s the first time I’ve used they’re 3 times in one post🤣

I've only seen him these last three games and he's been pretty impressive in my opinion. He came from Barnsley where he was captain and was named in the PFA and EFL teams of the season in the season before signing for us.

I dont think we will spend a lot with FFP & I reckon the loanees from this season will have to get shifted out on loan again
I think we will look something like
Davies Smith New CB Batth New LB Clucas New DM Campbell Powell Verlinden Afobe

I reckon he’ll sign Chester on a free and he’ll turn him and Batth into a good pairing. Chester seems to play much better as the right centre back and his strength is tackling players who are running at us. Calm and useful on the ball too. He’s not great in the air but if we’ve got Batth and full backs who are over 6ft we should be okay.
Smith is playing much better lately. He’ll continue to improve defensively and he’s useful going forwards.
OUT: Butland, Ward, Diouf, Lindsay, N’Diaye, Etebo, Woods, BMI, Federici, Wimmer, Bauer
IN: Left back, back up GK, midfielder
Davies
Smith Chester Batth New LB
Allen Clucas Powell
Campbell Vokes McClean/Verlinden
Subs: New GK, Collins, Souttar, Cousins, Ince, Gregory, Afobe

As been pointed out we can't just sell players like Woods for whatever we can get.
Not too keen on Chester coming but that back heel tackle was a bit good. Gave it away afterwards though. Did one suicidal defensive header into a dangerous area but got lucky. Would love to keep Etebo but not happening.

So with how ffp works we only need to sell him for £2.2M to not incur a lose any more is profit

According to reports in Northern Ireland, O'Neill is getting a £1.5m bonus and also wants to make Paddy McNair and Jamal Lewis his first signings of the summer

Was highly rated by the Sunderland fans but has been in and out the Boro side since he’s been there. Lewis would be a brilliant signing but I’d imagine he’ll have better options than ourselves. He’s actually linked with Liverpool in The Mirror today.

The fitness of Tyrese is a worry for me.
Can he actually hack starting as many games as we need him to?

Both of those players would improve us immensely, Lewis especially at left back.

The issue will be talking the Chairman into signing one of those renegade left backs that park their cars wherever they want to. I'm certain we can iron that one out in a meeting though. Sort of a 'pre medical, medical' if you like.

God,it feels so nice to know that we're safe. Busy month or two ahead though, in a somewhat unusual transfer landscape. Here's what I think we need to do squad-wise. GK Jack Butland has to go, to anyone daft enough to pay money for him, or even take the useless clown off our hands. We should try to start a bidding war by sticking him up for auction, perhaps on e-bay, and see if we can get more than about 25p for him. Hopefully, some daft Premier League club will bid for him based on his name and England caps. Have a little respect for someone who actually saved our skin on many, many occasions, even if not of late. He will probably go and rediscover his form with another club. I hope he does go and recover his form, but am not convinced he can do that with us. He's been a good keeper for us, but his confidence is shot. I think it's best all round if he moves on.

The first thing to do is get BMI out of the club, not even play him at forest.
As long as he has left the club any other position is a bonus for me. God i hate the bloke.

Agree with most of that but I think Davies has done enough to start next season as No1? No we need better. And we need better than Campbell, Verlinden and Collins as starters. Squad players that can develop but nowhere near a promotion side

Sorry Woods can go for me, his play is to negative and if the rumours are true he was the one giving the team sheet out days before the game Fuck him off he’s wank I think Cuousins is more effective, at least he breaks up opposition play.

I can see the McNair link, he is obviously a player the manager trusts from his Northern Ireland days, Jamal Lewis seems very much pie in the sky & has the James Justin feel about it.

No chance we'll be signing Jamal Lewis. Farke has said he wants him to stay at Norwich and fight for promotion again and you'd think one of the prem teams would take a punt if he was available.
