The irony is that the ones with sympathy for Jones are some of the first to spew bile at Rowett - just be honest, you were taken in by his bullshit He was an unmitigated disaster in every single sense, some are just too easily led His bullshit thats worked at Luton for some time, its not a surprise is it, he's got a good record and has played some good attacking football he could have been a breath of fresh air compared to some of the dross we've had over the last few seasons, it didn't work unfortunatley as we all know it was a huge desaster and you'd expect with the group we have that most managers could keep them in at least a safe position. Oh well, we move on, at least he didn't spend 50/60mil to not improve the team, but using Jones as some sort of defence of Rowett is just as bad, they were both disasters for different reasons. It was all Leslies fault but people can’t remember that far back mate.

Nath is a decent bloke. You can’t say that about Rowett. Shit happens, Nath tried his best. Good luck to him. What are you basing this on ? Nathan was so decent and righteous that he received his Luton manager of the month award in his Stoke kit. Then had to pitifully grovel when he went back. . Rowett made the mistake of criticising the fans , that was his fatal error although it hasn't really done McClean any harm doing the same thing I never ever and never will get the absolute lie that our Nath is a lovely cheeky chappy. He's simply not. Basing it on Rowett being a complete twat and pissing off the fans before the season had even begun. Your hatred of Nath is weird. Blame Rowett then, if Rowett wasn’t a complete bellend or any good at his job we wouldn’t have sacked him and appointed nasty Nath. So it’s all Rowett’s fault.

Afobe Woods Ince McClean We were unanimous favourite to win the league with a vast majority of bookies and pundits. People on here were creaming when the likes of Afobe and Ince were signed. Rowett for whatever reason lost the plot and the fans. Can't ever recall him promising the earth . Jones on the other hand promised absolutely everything. I remember his pre season quote of we know what the plan is for all 42 days of training, we'll have a team to be proud of etc etc. Rowett nor Jones delivered. However I sure know who I'd prefer out of the two . No hatred at all mate I just never fell for his spiel, sadly many did and even to the day he left were extolling his virtues as a great manager. And as someone else rightly pointed out Rowett is actually younger than Jones. Yet we kept being plied with this young manager tripe .

Rowett: half decent manager who shot himself in the foot by being sarcastic to the supporters. Had he stayed I'm sure he would have saved us from relegation. Jones: half decent manager as long as he can get his players to do it his way even if they have no chance of doing so. A complete eccentric and he definitely would have taken us down. O'Neil: Complete pragmatist who is neither of the above. What he's achieved is nothing less than a miracle given what he inherited.

Out of his depth but I blame the useless qunts who appointed him - the same ones who wasted £50+milion on shit players/people - for the state of our club.

As for signings, I’m still not sure who is responsible for our recent signings mate. They all have the same dogs home ring to them and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone at the club is making the signings for each manager. Has beens fc.

Nath is a decent bloke. You can’t say that about Rowett. Shit happens, Nath tried his best. Good luck to him. Jones promised a date with Margo Robbie and turned up with Nicola Sturgeon He was all talk and delivered exactly against what he promised. How can you promise a young , free flowing attacking squad and sign a 34 year old to play left back . He purchased around 12 players and 90% of them were completely shite It’s mostly his fault we have some of the players we do . Every time I see his ratty face on tv it angers me. Hope Luton go down and he rots in a division to which he belongs

Davies, Smith, Batth, Cousins, Powell, Gregory, and Vokes - whether he personally signed all of those 12 is another thing - all helped us escape relegation and all played really well vs Brentford in our last game. There seems to be a consensus that these players will form the nucleus of the team next season. Then there were 3 loan players which I don't think he had anything to do with. He certainly rarely played them. That really leaves only Lindsay, who may yet have a future with us, and Ward as players who didn't eventually do reasonably well for us. That some of them took a long time before hitting their stride may be down to Jones' poor management, but in the final analysis, he didn't do too badly with regard to signing players.

So if we had gone down this season (which would have been entirely on Jones' head) you'd have just thought "shit happens" and doffed your cap? Fuck me, he did a right number on some of you lot didn't he? I think you’ll find our dire shit state wasn’t his doing. Having a short memory is convenient. The rot started way before we’d even heard of Nath. He just couldn’t stop it, as per his predecessors. Being bottom of the league with 8 points from 15 games haviung been here for an entire season, spending £20m in the process was entirely his doing - why people are re-writing history to absolve him of blame is utterly bizarre?! As for his immediate predecessor, he fared much better as did the guy who followed him. It's almost as if he was completely fucking useless?

It's almost as if he was completely fucking useless? He was with us. He wasn't and isn't with Luton. I don't agree that his predecessor did well, but one thing they share is they both lost the plot with too much money in their hands. They both thought they could do anything and they both did very little. As one of those who never took to Jones I would still say in his favour that he had appalling luck during his stay. You make your own luck, to some degree, but there was an awful lot of games that we lost narrowly that had we instead drawn or even won, we would have been better placed in the table, and he might just have acted a little less frantically. He might have been able to see some of his own signings blossom like they eventually have under O'Neill. I still think he would have been a catastrophe with his fantasy system and bizarre management, even if those things had worked better, so I suppose we should be grateful that he was sacked and also that the club experience didn't do more damage to his personality, as some feared it would. Even if Luton do go down, their comeback is remarkable, and so is his.

Nathan Jones is possibly the most unlucky manager we’ve had, as much as you earn your own luck. I’m obviously delighted he went and couldn’t believe he got as long as he did, but if we break down our opening games... 1-2 QPR - butland howler at 0-0 1-3 Charlton, hit woodwork twice, Gregory open goal, Butland howler at 0-0 2-2 Derby, if memory serves me right we absolutely battered them, hit the woodwork a couple of times 1-3 Preston, Jack fucking Butland 0-3 Leeds, don’t remember it 1-2 Birmingham, Allen missed open goal? 1-2 Bristol City, don’t remember it By this point, confidence was obviously shattered and we looked like an absolute sack of shit, he rightfully went. I do wonder what would have happened if Butland would have left in the summer, of if Jones had the balls to cull him All under the control of Jones who kept playing Butland and signed goal-shy strikers like Gregory to miss the target in the first place. The teams were generally disjointed from game to game from his constant chopping and changing of personnel so it's unsurprising that they struggled for any kind of form or momentum anywhere on the pitch I’m wondering whether there’s been an instruction from the board to play Butland at all costs to protect his value? Even MON has played him without fail up until his ‘neck injury’. You’d think anyone sane who’s watched Davies and Butland in training would plump for Davies

I don’t have any inside knowledge, but it’s very weird how our worst player this season has been our first name on the team sheet for long spells I wouldn't agree that he's been our single worst player. He's let in a few, more than he should, but he's saved a few too. The one thing we knew about Davies was that two managers weren't picking him, Jones didn't even pick him as 1st reserve, and we all saw with our own eyes the blunder he made in the fa cup. So do you selct a top keeper in poor form or do you select an untried keeper at this level in poor form? Davies looks good on paper, now, where we have conceded just 1 in 3, but it's worth remembering that the three teams we've played hardly tested him in any serious manner.

Why was Davies untested but Butland regularly tested? To me it’s because Davies actually comes off his line and helps stop the danger before it begins. Look at the 2 goals Bristol City scored against us at home, they’re crosses floated to the back post about 3 yards from the goal line. Why isn’t Jack claiming them? He’s been our worst player mate. I reckon he’s made at least 10 mistakes leading to goals. Off the top of my head. Wigan A x2, Wigan home, Preston A x2, QPR, Charlton A, Forest and Huddersfield A. Then there’s those that he doesn’t claim, and the 51 penalties in a row he’s conceded He’s literally shocking

Not that I'm impressed with his technique. I'm not a gk coach but there's been a line of thinking in recent years that the goalie stays on the line and lets the big boys deal with crosses. You see it with de Gea too, which is stupid, because it was his greatest strength when he was playing with Athletico. I don't know the ins and outs of this, but maybe gk coach Andy Quy had lost his touch and failed to help him develop further or maybe Jack refused to listen properly. At any rate Quy was sacked, a new man brought in with a new set of theories to confuse Jack further. He's struggled, true. But he's not our worst player. If we must have one, the honour goes to Tom Ince. He has deliberately played against his own team's interests.

Nathan Jones will never get to manage a bigger club than us again. I hold my hands up and admit than when we appointed him I thought that after what he had achieved at Luton he was worth a try. Trouble is,what he said he would do and what he actually did do were polar opposites.
