I don't pretend to be holier than though, it's the look at me libtard hypocritical left that piss me off, he's complaining about others taking the piss out of his posts inferring that others are discriminatory and he does the same thing but thinks that's perfectly acceptable, another teacher a) I wasn't complaining. b) I was using complicit irony. Haha like b) is a legitimate defence any more. Face it, bigot, you’ve been cancelled 😉

As someone who plays on the wing(when I can and at a very low level) throughout any age group I’ve never ever been taught to ‘put it on the strikers head’ I’ve always been taught to get the ball in at a decent height (I.e if my striker is 6’1” anywhere between the floor and about 6’6 is fine) any where between the penalty spot and the goal mouth, dependent on the situation. If the strikers don’t score, or even touch the ball, it’s not my problem. If I hit it over or don’t beat the first man then it is. McClean does what I’ve described around 50% of the time, is the strikers aren’t in the ‘sweet spot’ it’s their problem. Many of times I’ve seen McClean hit it at a lively height on the six yard line, and whatever striker is playing that day is trotting into the 18 yard box still instead of being in and around the penalty spot ready to attack the cross Most of his crosses are over hit. And surely if no one is there and he keeps crossing, he’s a bit thick? Yup ...he is that thick he is a millionaire who will retire in complete financial comfort in his late 30’s...I wish I was that thick

I feel his crossing when nobody is there comes from a lack of confidence in his ability to hold the ball up or recycle play and he just hits it into the box in hope that someone will latch onto it or something will drop.

Yeah he seems scared of the ball and just wants it gone.

Batth's diving header made McClean look good. If Batth hadn't thrown himself like that, it would just have been the latest in a long, long line of aimless crosses. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

McClean has heart and this is a very necessary footballing quality, both for himself and his team mates. It is infectious and can sometimes make other players do unexpected better things. Despite his lack of ability, is this attribute alone that brings something huge, that three quarters of the rabble we have in the squad, have feck all of.

So that is the reason why we are a bottom third team; they've all been infected by McClean's heart, for all the good it does....

Your needing to explain irony to someone missing it and getting shitty with you, but missing someone else joining in on the irony and getting shitty and defensive with them in turn. Hoisted by your own petard! I wouldn't worry about it; these things happen to the best of us!

McClean’s brilliant at getting people on here frothing with rage. That’s a proper talent he has there.
What I can say is that he’s got a bit of character and spunk (oo-er) about him, and in a football team that’s what you need.
The longer he’s been with us, the more I like him.
And as I said earlier in the thread, I say that even though I disagree with most of his politics.

I think McClean has had a good season and in the last few games he has done really well.
But, against Brentford yeasterday what was going through his mind?
A blatant push in the back in his own penalty area. And then and horrendous kamikaze tackle that got him a booking and could easily have been a sending off.
Maybe he has a cheap flight booked to a sunny beach and wanted to get away early and not wait until Thursday? ⚓️

He may not be blessed with the talent of Arnie or Hoekstra et al,he certainly suffers by the comparison but he's got enough ability to be effective.
He certainly guarantees a manager effort and this season that's been a prime commodity.
He's never going to scintillate like some of the wingers we've been blessed with but he never hides, has lots of physical and moral courage, and enviable energy levels.
At the very upper limit of his ability he 's probably a 7 or 8 out of 10 type, and he needs to be playing at that upper level to compensate for his shortcomings (when he's off his game he tends to be really off it!) but i'd back MON to get him playing at that level more sustainedly.
Made some genuinely important contributions this season which tend to be overlooked because so many have ostensibly resolved to dislike him for the whole of his tenure with us,but we have far more pressing issues and more players deserving of rebuke than JM,and yes, you'd probably wish for better in his position if we were to be serious contenders for the play offs next season, but if he continues his better form, come the end of his contract he'll owe us nothing.
His agent should probably confiscate all gadgets allowing him access to the Internet too...😉
