I know it will be dependent on which league we will be in. How many of the starter 11 positions need reviewing?. I think by & large with our options probably only 3 to the starting 11. Goalkeeper (for all parties Jack needs a fresh start), left back and probably a mobile CDM?

If we stay up I think it will look something like this: I think Butland will sign a new contract (can't see many buyers), uncertain about Ryan due to all his injuries, can't see Bristol with a new manager buying Afobe either. We must bring in a decent left back, but I can't see us buying many players unless we get well paid for our players under sold here!

I would like to see a new goalkeeper and hopefully sell Jack. Smith isn't brilliant but he's OK. I would like to see the club invest in a decent quality centre back to help bring Collins on and obviously a new left back as it is a gaping hole. If we could sell Bruno for a small fee and also get a fee for Etebo from Getafe. We will more than likely have to re loan Ndiaye & Wimmer. There is also the outside chance of a transfer for Afobe is he wants away. I would like to see the club bring in a decent quality defensive midfielder to play alongside Joe Allen. Plus a pacy right winger if Ince leaves. There are certainly goals in this team. It's the back 5 that needs addressing.

I really like Batth and think he is very underrated on this board. He would certainly be picked for my first 11. If we could get £4-5M for Ince I'd let him go too, but I can't see anybody willing to pay this after this season.  |

I can see Joe Allen being sold. Be good to get a couple of season loans in of young players from top end premier league sides if possible. Oh and a goalkeeper unless Bursik can make the step up? Anyone seen the lad and what are your opinions?

I would really like to see Verlindin push McClean for the wide left slot, he has the added string to his bow of going on the outside or cutting in. Sorenson I like the look of, if we can start well and confidence is high, it makes introducing younger players so much easier.

Allen won't be sold, he's not anywhere near fit, so even if clubs were interested in him, they would undoubtedly wait until he proved he was back to his best post injury.

Apart from a left-back (whatever division), I don't necessarily think it needs freshening up massively apart from losing whoever doesn't want to be here and whatever bad eggs O'Neill has discovered. The Championship midfield probably depends on whether Allen stays (until January at least). If we're relegated, I can see far more outs than ins. Souttar is already proven at League One level. If we stay in the Championship, hopefully, Souttar can make the step up, plus Campbell over a full season. With three or four of Sorenson, Collins, Verlinden, Oakley-Boothe, Edwards and another hopefully pushing through as regulars.

I don't believe Edward's has a first team regular place with us. It has already been pointed out that the number of times where we have conceded at the back post. Both Smith & Collins have been preferred to him recently. |

If we don't get a pacey LB then I don't like the look of it being narrow, because we all know how that turns out. The problem there is you have Powell in the midfield 2. He needs to play #10. 4-2-3-1 is the ideal and I will keep banging the drum till it's worn out. Souttar I think will play a part. If Chester doesn't stay, Ryan's questionable injury record of late as well, he'll most certainly play a part along with Collins, Batth and maybe Lindsay? Take Bauer off the subs, he'll be gone again. |

Me too but I think there needs to efforts from all sides to sort that out. It's not as easy as Edwards being the issue is what I've heard. He clearly needs a kick up the arse though. In an ideal world these are the players I'd keep: Bursik Edwards Smith Collins Shawcross Souttar Clucas (but no averse to selling him) Verlinden Powell Campbell None of the rest fuss me in the slightest. |
