Just in time for their visit to the benevolent stadium, hope we can kick the new manager bounce out of them!

I'm approaching this fixture with more trepidation now, if there's new energy and direction.

Indeed, they were woeful on Saturday, hopefully it will take aunt warnock a few weeks to put his stamp on things, but this is a real worry with our normal performance levels against new managers

He’ll get a tune out of them
They need a proper old school manager sort them out

Really worrying, no doubt Warnock will set them up for a smash and grab, as tight as a tight thing with a little pace up front, long balls and lots of wind up conniving, diving shenanigans!

Typical Stoke!
I’d love to know how many times this has happened ie. new manager appointment and first game is Stoke.
And wins said game usually.

Last time we played Warnock in his first game in charge for a new club we thrashed him.
Can anyone remember the game?

Their defence was a shower of shit on Saturday, it looked like they didn't even know each other names. I thought old Colin had retired, so much for that. He might have his work cut out here, come on Stoke we can beat these.

So where does that leave Woodgate, I wonder? He is a former Stoke player, so it's legal to wonder here.
Pulis employed him at Boro, which is also his hometown club so that was ideal. He might have hoped for Pulis to rescue him again, but as TP is unemployed himself, that is not an option.
Among his other former clubs, Real Madrid, Spurs, Leeds, and ourselves don't look likely to have a vacancy right now, and I'm thinking in terms of coaching. He never got the manager's job at Boro but was head coach. I don't know what the situation might be with Newcastle.

Meh, nothing has changed really. If we turn up and play like we did against Reading I'd expect us to lose 9 out of 10 games anyway.
I'd be far more concerned if we lost to Woodgate's Boro than to Warnock's Boro. The barometer is Hull, they're pretty much all I'm concerned about at this juncture.

He says they don't have a new manager bounce, the last time a manager won his opening game was Bryan Robson in 1994. 26 years ago. You know what that means.

It should be easy enough to plan for what Warnock will do. He'll put in his most committed players, come to sit behind the ball, tackle all over the pitch and hit us on the break.
If we do the basics well enough we should win the game.
We'd better put a couple of extra pairs of shin pads on Powell though, as he'll be the first player they go after.

I know a few were questioning our first game back but at least we got a point. Boro got battered by Swansea and the game was to effectively over in the forst half. Our strongest 11 should come away with 3 points against them. 👍👍

Is a good appointment but we have no excuses for not beating them. He'll certainly give them a fighting chance to stay up. He loves to pack his midfield away from home

And don’t forget he’s coming back with Ronnie Jepson as his assistant, Ron is a life long Stoke supporter, and according to him he missed that sitter at Stoke for the vale 😂😂😂😂
