I got fined £250 for an illegal plate. Was no spacing on it You do see plenty with italics and all kind of fiddling with the letters/numbers as you say though. There is someone on here who had a womanly meltdown re people's plates so beware

There aren't many of us about, and it wasn't me! --- Or do you mean that one of the guys acted in a 'less than the customary Oatie macho' way? C'mon. sing!

He cried like a a cross between John Inman and a Banshee over the prospect of other folk's number plates. Forgot his name but was a bit of a bizarre thing to get wound up over. Maybe he had a bad experience with one once. 😁

Maybe he had a bad experience with one once. 😁 Right, well, I've done a bit of a trawl for you, Jeeze, and there are probably about 4 threads with the heading 'Personalised Number Plates' - or similar, but there isn't really a post with someone blowing a gasket, not that I can find, anyway, although the first of the links below was started in 2009 by mumf, who predictably had a bit of a 'funny do' over the subject, and I don't mean 'funny - har har', not that anyone needed to be told that. The second link also has a couple of 'Mr Angry' posts in it, but nothing I'd say is really too hostile, and in fact some of the comments are really quite positive. And I bought mine because my car's original plate was the initials of someone I worked with, who was a proper pain in the other end, so it simply had to go. I don't know if either of these is the one you had in mind, Jeezy - see if they look familiar: oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/94223/private-registration-plates oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/293842/private-reg-plates

Was on a thread to do with someone driving a fancy car. Not only was he jealous of the car but the plate as well. Actually there are a few on there but not the one was thinking of. Anyway, if someone's number plate upsets you then I think they have issues.

Ah yes, mumf, proof that little changes on here! The names might, but the toys and prams remain the same!

Why does anyone fanny around with number plates?
It just looks wank when they do.

The cheapest way is to change your name to your registration number. Simples and only £36 for the perfect personalised plate.

Anyway, if someone's number plate upsets you then I think they have issues. Okay, then, this is really intriguing so I've had another look and on this other four-page one, from 2012, 'Which car drivers do you despise?' there are quite a number of hostile posts throughout, including a long-ish rumpelstiltskin-type (hopping on one foot, red-faced, furious) one early on, so I wonder if this is the one you had in mind? For me, the best post on the entire thread is from redstriper at 9:59am on Jan 30, 2012. oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/183671/which-car-drivers-despise

I suspect you're referring to Mr Sausage, once of this parish...

The number of offences that can be committed (including number plates) before we even turn the ignition key in a car is eye watering. Amongst other bits of legislation you have to remember while at Hendon the main bit was the Road Traffic Act 1972,Part 2, Construction and Use, Section 40. Hidden away in the sub sections are number plates, I think. Height off the floor, width of plate, height of plate, size of letters and numbers, spacing, it goes on. As for colours...😳
