They are back, should have started in Div 1 South imo, could have played against my local lot, Bury are in the lower league.

Spot on, macclesfield are going in the right direction now. An excellent consortium has been appointed a while ago and the current/new owner (rob smethurst) spending money like its going out of fashion. Anew 4G pitch has been laid (which you will be able to hire), work has been completed replacing all the seats under the new name macclesfield fc (town has been dropped), the old london road main stand is in the process of having a complete refurb, a brand new gym, bar, offices, meeting rooms etc etc etc is currently under development. The first team have appointed the legend danny whittaker as manager and will be starting again at the bottom (all thanks to the bent, incompetent previous owner, efl and fa!). Zelem, as in Alan Zelem?

Probably due to the reorganisation of tiers three to six of non league The northern premier has been given a new tier four causing teams to be promoted / shifted across My local side has been shafted they remain in the isthmian north division Whilst three sides in the league have moved to the new northern league whilst all being geographically south of Dereham We have lost three trips of just over the hour and gained two on the outskirts of London around at least two and a half hours

'new' phoenix clubs don't always start at the absolute bottom rung, they start at the highest league that will have them.
Might sound unfair but at the very lowest rung lots of clubs simply couldn't cope with having hundreds or even thousands of away fans turning up

I'm sad to see my team Sheffield FC's local derby with Belper gone because they have been put in different regional divisions! In fact Leek, Belper and Sheffield Fc now all in different divisions. Games between these always attracted decent crowds because they were so close by.

Great servant on the pitch but his spells as Caretaker Manager have been far from glorious. I reckon he'd do a better job on the pitch

Not sure, as Bury FC are starting in the League below, probably the Robbie Savage and ground facilities ? I'm pissed off the IOM have been moved from Div 1 south to Div 1 North, they didn't play a game last season, we were hoping for a weekend there this time. 1874 Northwich have been promoted into the Evostick/Unibond or whatever it's called these days, so are now higher than Northwich Victoria

You got it ! 👍 I grew up in Macc and regularly watched The Silkmen in the eighties. Still get down there a few times a season, now. Zelem was the first keeper I remember. Played in a cracking team with the likes of Tobin, Edwards, Burr, Askey, Hanlon etc. Good memories.

Great team; to this day burr is the best pound for pound player i have ever seen and that includes nearly two generations watching the potters
