Amidst the tumbleweed and remnants of Starmer supporters, is there any Starmer supporter left who would like to defend this one? He is seriously dislikeable isn't he. There aren't many more things in the world more tragic than knowing this plank is PM of our once great nation.

I don't pretend to have an answer to an alternative (I'm just an idiot on an obscure football message board). I'm just identifying, yet again, the systemic hypocrisy of the charade that people are offered as the only ethical system of government. I appreciate that may bore or upset people but until I'm informed otherwise that's my prerogative I guess. Between that and deliberately winding people up on here I get my entertainment. It's machinations and mechanisms for control and subjugation are as sinister and secretive as any derided dictatorship that currently exists; it's just dressed up in a faรงade of pomp, history and deference to a crippling class system. It's masks would drop somewhat if all the lobbying and funding of all parties and politicians was out in the open and explained clearly to the electorate e.g. "I'm representing you in your constituency, but essentially these corporations/individuals/pressure groups/quangos etc are who I actually prioritise". Now we all have an interest in those other elements so if it was made clear who was pulling which prospective politicians levers we could make a more informed decision when providing them our vote. It passes itself off as superior to the alternatives but really, probably due to all it's hidden and masked failings, is equally in thrall to the forces of commerce and self interest that would likely equally drive any alternative system. Our 'leaders' have spent the last 30 odd years trying to export it to other parts of the world in return for oil and influence, that hasn't really worked out has it? Unfortunately the only option for the average joe who doesn't enjoy the ability to employ accountants, tax experts and solicitors to twist the rules their favour, is to opt out and disengage with the process as far as reasonably possible. That doesn't preclude one from being able to comment on the situation surely. I actually think it would be very interesting if MPs had to declare all the gifts, hospitality and lobbying they had received from various organisations etc and the reasons for it, when campaigning for election. It would actually help me, Iโm far more interested in what is driving people behind the scenes, where much of the politics is actually taking place as well as what powers are either pulling strings or trying to with parties. Ultimately, thatโs what me and you are voting for at the end of the day. Imagine Kier Starmer; Here is the manifesto I received more gifts and hospitality than most will ever earn in a year Iโm in bed with X companies and organisations Pls vote for me duck
i did bring it to the attention of the lefties on this board prior to the election (those to SIR 2 tier and angie scum ) but they didn't give a shit then and still voted for them.

I can't believe people are more upset about a few grands worth of freebies than they were about the Tories giving their mates billions for useless PPE gear ๐ Everyone knows the Tories are corrupt but they hoped for better from Labour especially as Labour in opposition claimed they were going to be a government of integrity. It's not just the hypocrisy over all the freebies. Since the election they have parachuted 70 of their own supporters and donors into the Civil Service which is supposed to be neutral. So much for 'country first, party second'. At this stage they seem to just be another version of the Tories. It would be interesting if the election was held again now how different the result would be.

Same with Liz Truss, crashes the economy in an attempt to make her rich mates even richer, not even a raised eyebrow in certain quarters. I didn't and wouldn't vote for Starmer but I think perspective is important.
