If anyone enjoyed the Karate kid films then cobra Kai is a must. Have to admit it’s a bit cheesy (actually a lot) but I really enjoyed them

Enjoying Gomorra - an Italian crime serial about the Naples Mafia. At times it's quite challenging to watch, not just the subtitles but the content. It's very raw, filmed with predominantly handheld cameras that give it an almost documentary style feel. The brutality is both physical and emotional as they show such little regard for life. It far from glamorises violence

Travels by Narrowboat produced, narrated and starring Kevin Shelley is strangely riveting. There are 6 seasons and a 7th on the way. It’s on Amazon and YouTube. Kevin sells up after divorce and buys a narrowboat.

This is the crack though Murphs.......I love narrowboating because I can be the Captain and delegate jobs to my crew. As an engineer on "much bigger faster kit" I was a smaller cog in a much bigger wheel. When we go Narrowboating every couple of years I still conduct man overboard drills, fire exercises, action and emergency stations though. Old habits die hard.

Keep the traditions alive, I say - cat o' nine tails and daily keelhaulings, not forgetting rum, sodomy an' the lash…….. plus weevils in yer bikkies. I bet your kids are the best behaved in the country. If you're looking for an enthusiastic cabin boy for your next voyage I can send Fel down to you - he's already got a little sailor suit, which he loves to wear, and I must confess it really does suit him.

There are few greater pleasures than narrow boating in the height of summer. I’ve done the Norfolk boards a couple of times, you will probably tell me that’s a terrible place for it but I enjoy it😀

Considering Vikings has just finished it's well worth binging. A couple of slow moments along the way but definitely still one of my fave shows.

Haha I was telling my lad about a submariners dhoby only yesterday while out for a walk, him and his mates apparently call it something that's derogatory towards some of our European neighbours

Ploughing through Handmaid's Tale on Prime.
Utterly brilliant but fuck me it's harrowing.

The wife and I started watching “A Teacher” yesterday, about an affair between a 30-something teacher and her college student. We’re onto Episode 5 already, it’s compulsive viewing.
Despite the age gap, there’s real chemistry between the leads and it’s very well acted.
Each episode’s only half an hour, so it’s easy viewing too.
Whole series available on iPlayer.

I'm part way through Our friends in the North and really enjoying it. Didn't watch it first time around. It’s fantastic, even accounting for Daniel Craig’s at times sketchy Geordie accent. Some acting greats in it......

Some acting greats in it...... It's got everything, Labour, the Tories, corruption on steroids, the unions, the music, fashion, haircuts I could well recommend it to the under 40s as a snapshot of the seventies but as you say stuffed with great actors on top of their game with a great script.

And some of the similarities around Labour in fighting, Tory cronyism etc. are as poignant as ever. It's a good time to watch it, and as social commentaries go pretty bang on the money.....

All the going back in time and then foreword start to fall into place. what is scary is that it is based on a true story. ⚓️

Just finished watching the final episode of Vikings, one of the best series I've seen. Could never get in to GOT, Breaking bad or any other series on netflix etc but got straight in to vikings. Definitely worth a view if you've not seen it already. Based loosely on historical characters and events.

THE SERPENT. BBC I PLAYER. Well I have to say that is one of the best and most suspenseful series I have seen for some time.
A true story that I could not stop watching. Eight episodes that I binge watched over three days, saving the last two to this evening.
I am left feeling that I would like to research and find out more about this incredible sequence of events.
A MUST see series. I was not certain if it was any good at first but you will soon be engrossed.
