John - the British Govt were slow to respond, fiddled the numbers, didn't ban flights in and out etc - a lot of it did happen in the UK. It's just that it didn't start here but we sure helped it take hold Any right minded person - left or right - would like to better understand precisely how this started and help prevent further outbreaks. As only conspiracy theorists believe it was in any way deliberate then that would be best achieved with the co-operation of the Chinese - demonising and isolating them won't help - it just encourages a seige mentality that won't help anyone. Yelling 'Lab or Slab" repeatedly like a demented loon doesn't add anything either. I think he makes a basic point about the actually origin of the virus....and the initial actions of the Chinese government have had more implications in the UK and worldwide than anything that the UK government could have done or did do. Just a simple point that he is making. Perhaps he repeats " slab or lab" to emphasise his basic point, I don't know, as I say , I don't need to defend him. If it had originated on the UK then this government would have been slaughtered, in my opinion. After this is over, how do we prevent or lessen the risk of another, more devastating outbreak of a novel virus , I wonder? Yeah well you said no-one had addressed his central point. I have - diplomacy and collaboration would be my preferred approach - at least to start with - anyone can feel free to agree or disagree or even have their own views - which will no doubt range from nuking Bejing to closing our eyes and hoping it goes away.

At what point was his child at risk and not being looked after by anyone? If they both had coronavirus how would they know their symptoms wouldn't rapidly deteriotate enough so they wouldn't be able to keep their children safe. They made a very difficult judgement call at the time, maybe it was right or maybe it was wrong but there's a lot of people judging who have not been in that position and who do not have an alternative solution. That could go for anyone that had it then and makes a mockery of it all. đđ

So what would you have done if you were too ill too look after your children and your family lived 280 miles away? Even if we indulge this absurd narrative they have family in London. It's a pure coincidence that the trip coincided with his mums birthday. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it

That would mean that anybody with children who get's coronavirus should do the same and would make an utter mockery of the Government's rules.

Yes , here we are in the biggest Health crisis in a century and the Government effort is focussed on keeping alive the career of a favoured advisor. Shameful but unsurprising with this lot. I'm glad I stayed at home while self-isolating just so that Cummings had empty roads to drive along. On the 23rd April Cummings missus did an interview with the Mail saying how her Dominic was so ill for 10 days that he couldn't get out of bed as they self isolated in their home in London. Leaving aside the Mail could have made that up then the twat doesn't seem to be beyond getting his wife to do his lying for him. It's so endemic amongst that lot I honestly don't think the fuckers even know when they're lying to themselves anymore - never mind the country. The Mail didn't make it up. Dom's wife tells the whole tragic story in her column is the Spectator. www.spectator.co.uk/article/getting-coronavirus-does-not-bring-clarityIt really is hard to understand how the details that Dom's defence are putting forward today match up with Ms Wakefield's account.

Lot of what ifs and unknowns here - I'll add another one in, maybe they should've stayed at home, self-isolated as a family and got help from local friends and family like the rest of the country have been advised to do.

And in other news Chancellor Sunak has chosen today to announce that employers will be expected to contribute 25% of furloughed staff salaries from 01 August, and I think pay Employers National Insurance. Furlough has been one of the few things that the âgovernmentâ has done well in the pandemic preventing many more redundancies. But this will lead to many, many people losing their jobs. The cynicism of announcing this on the Saturday of a Bank Holiday weekend just as parliament goes in to recess and on a day when there is another piece of news making a distraction just shows that Sunak is just like all the rest of this disgraceful group of people.

So today's question, if Dominic Cummings were to spit into a police officers face would he :-
a) Get a pay rise.
b) Get a knighthood
c) Both a) and b).

đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤ŁWodger has been home schooling. About time! IDS has the Shitas touch, everything he touches... I think IDS reversing Labour's policy led by Yvette Copper to ban Job Centres issuing food bank vouchers was a pretty good thing. Obviously Labour point at their figures and say less people needed foodbanks when we were in power which is not only a lie but a lie on the back of struggling people who they denied food bank vouchers to. Of course it's sad, almost criminal but not half as sad as those, like you and PP and Momo and Huddy who will go to their graves believing the opposite of what really happened because someone with a red rosette told you so. Sorrowful. "Chris Mould, Executive Chairman of the Trussell Trust the organisation behind the foodbanks network. He said:
In the early days of foodbanks we had local arrangements with Job Centres.
The ban on Department of Work and Pensions staff from issuing vouchers came in just before Christmas in 2008. It meant extra hassle and extra obstacle for those getting help. They could still get hold of vouchers from other places like Citizens Advice Bureaus but it was harder for them.
The reason for the ban given was equity. The DWP said that as there wasn't a foodbank everywhere they wouldn't refer anyone to a foodbank as we didn't have one in every town. On the same basis they stopped giving details of Salvation Army hostels. They also said it wasn't there job to help people as they were an eligibility service not a social service. But they were the ones responsible who made the decisions. They knew if someone's benefit was being delayed.
It was a disagreement we had with the Labour Government. We thought it was just plain good sense to issue a voucher if it was needed. We had a campaign against the ban. It was very, very helpful to us that Iain Duncan Smith lifted the ban even though it was against the wishes of officials in the DWP."
Yvette Cooper should resignSo you think a few cans of beans compensate for Austerity. Rodger, youâre the new Marie Antoinette.

The Health Secretary now. These twats are just a moral free zone, above their own laws. Tossrags. This is very simple. Next press briefing. Ask the question straight. "Your advice is for entire households to self isolate if anybody displays symptoms. Can you confirm it is now ok for families to travel hundreds of miles to be with relatives or friends, should they have symptoms, and also have kids?"

Anyone remember near the start of this when the Scottish medical woman travelled to her second home after advising people not to travel. She rightfully resigned. However, she nor her family had shown any symptoms or knowingly been in contact with anyone with the disease. She did get some support from the Scottish government and she did apologise for ignoring her own advice. (No one here is really defending Cummins are they, just a spot of fishing) NS wanted to keep her for her medical input during a pandemic but the media went into a feeding frenzy so within the day she was gone. Personally thought it was right decision as your position is untenable if you're not following your own advice. Anyone still daft enough to believe the media any way fair or balanced just need to watch this unfold because Cummings will get away with this and come out the other side the victim of a smear campaign. Our system is corrupted as fuck.

I don't think that anyone has attempted to answer his point about the origin of the virus and , in this global world, the role of the Chinese government in allowing the conditions to create the virus, trying to cover it up, acting slowly, and not banning flights/ travel out...Good job it didn't happen in the UK , because think that there would be a different response from some on the EE board.....as I say , many a true word said in jest/ laughter. You've lost me? If you're agreeing viewpoint just say so........

Got a mate of mine on Twitter sticking up for the twat and heâs coming up with evidence to say that it was within the guidelines as it was a necessary to get childcare, which I agree with to an extent but surely driving to the other end of the country wasnât what they meant? Even if he hasnât âbrokenâ anything particularly, theyâve bent the guidelines to the extreme to fit their âneedsâ.
That surely would have meant that anybody caught out and about by the police driving a non essential journey could have just said they were off to their parentsâ house to drop their kids off or pick them up?
It seems that at every turn, thereâs a way for them to weasel out of something.

Of course we could see our loved ones at whatever point we wanted, just as long as we had a good hypothetical situation to back it up.

Who filled his car up? His young son?
Highly unlikely his young son wouldn't want to stop for the toilet or food? Presumably they took a picnic and a Jerry can to piss in?
