Tim Martin, man of the people. Donated a huge amount to The Brexit Campain so he knows his priorities......... He may or may not be a massive bellend but not sure of the relevance of his donations to a campaign nearly three years ago. I would also add that a business like wetherspoons just like BA and others will literally run out of cash pretty quickly, it has no income and wont carry huge cash reserves as it usually takes many millions each day and it uses that to open other pubs and will have many millions of pounds worth of stock which is pretty much worthless so it is actually possible they actually might need the loan to pay the staff.

Could I please urge posters to include a link to any posts like this, to verify that this actually happened and not to needlessly distribute more panic. I'm not saying it hasn't happened but it would be good for people to be able to check the source for such rumours. It's on BBC

well that's me just coming out of it, not bad enough to be hospitalised but knocks you for a while, then comes back for a 2nd wave, been in isolation for 6 days now, and getting bored, just when I thought there'd be freedom, another 3 weeks Mate that's great news enjoy it, you're alive. Ambulance and medics with all the gear on have just taken my next door neighbour away, I haven't been in contact with any of them, he's a big strong guy a tree surgeon, fingers crossed.

Just looking at the death stats & I'm expecting another jump today. We had 3 days in the teens/twenties before it jumped into the thirties/forties for 3 days, then we've just had our third day around the fifty mark so we're more than likely due another jump? In the bizarre world we're living in now if we get 'only' 50-odd deaths today we surely have to class that as a 'good' day? One day it will just double or treble to around the 150 mark and there will be no looking back.

Ever being the optimist, I’ve ordered my season tickets this morning for when life finally returns to something like normality. Do you think we'll go up Marchy?( and I'm talking ....into the Prem)

If you were, does that make you a super user with potentially increased immunity now you have endured it? Again I’m interested as I had read bits about super users being re introduced into care and nursing roles as they can’t pass it on and are unlikely to be re infected....could be rubbish of course. No, didn't get tested, they are only testing if you go to hospital or rich enough to pay £375, just advised to stay at home, ride it through unless it got really bad, which it didn't thankfully. There's got to be thousands out there who arent on the numbers.

If there is anything out there that depicts the state this country is in, it's this. They need sterilising.

Papers reporting the tube drivers are discussing closing the network themselves as they are worried by the volume of passengers.

I'd stay on here a bit longer if I were you, you can never have enough right wingers telling you that everything is crystal clear and you're a bit thick if you don't understand blatant contradictory evidence from their Government.

I saw this photo 2 days ago, and the similarity continues till today with 233 deaths in Italy 2 weeks ago and 233 deaths in UK today, I wish this will stop soon: We are following exactly the same trajectory as Italy, yet in Sth. Korea, they are still in double figures. Anyone got the updated version of this chart including the last few days?

There's got to be thousands out there who arent on the numbers. The reckon about x10 or x15 to get to the real UK number don't they? On that basis we'd be running at around 75k, about the size of N-U-L to put that in some perspective. Another way to think of it is 650,000 folks will die in the UK this year as they do each year. I guess it doesn't take much extra pressure to tip the NHS over the edge when beds are already at capacity most of the time with a myriad of other diseases. What are we doing here, buying time I guess, fkatten the initial peak let the brakes off and on over the next 2 years and hope some immunity builds up. Any vaccine will surely be late next year and for the vulnerable only.

I believe B&Q was closed earlier today while staff prepared the store to provide only essential items in cases of an emergency at home. I presume this means water burst, etc and not decorating or gardening.
If this is true it makes more sense to me than just leaving hardware stores open.

If there is anything out there that depicts the state this country is in, it's this. They need sterilising. If people like that had a brain, they'd be 10x more dangerous. What on earth possesses people to do things like that!? It's this kind of idiocy and people still going out that will cause even further restrictions to be implemented.
