Anyone know why "variants" are never less transmissible or a weaker, less dangerous strain? Appreciate it doesn't suit the scare mongering agenda but surely a new, weaker strain will appear at some point? Probably loads of weaker variants out there but it doesnβt sell well... Also the study that showed the British variant didnβt seem to increase hospitalisation or deaths got little to no publicity

Looks like it's Independent SAGE mate. Doesn't surprise me. I'm going to set up an alternative SAGE to compete with actual and independent SAGE. ONION is what I think I'll call it. They can all get stuffed!

Anyone know why "variants" are never less transmissible or a weaker, less dangerous strain? Appreciate it doesn't suit the scare mongering agenda but surely the law of averages tells us a new, weaker strain will appear at some point? As you pointed out the other day Covid is a genetically engineered virus designed by the the Chinese military. Natural viruses mutate all the time and most are weaker and not reported because "virus mutates to less interesting form" isn't very exciting. Covid is far more interesting and scary because the Chinese military specified that Covid should only mutate into a more deadly form and the communist controlled press have been told to report every successful more deadly mutation so as to terrify people into acceptance of the superiority of the PRC. Keep up.

Well doneπβΊοΈ So you accept that there is a huge chance a weak strain will take over the mutant ninja deadly strains at some point?

This is an interesting graphic showing the cases in Bolton where this Indian variant has taken off.
Most cases in school kids 10-19 and then the age range 35-39 ie the parents!
Also (hopefully) shows a vaccine effect too.

Also (hopefully) shows a vaccine effect too. Hopefully the vaccine does its job, seemingly looking at the ages of those infected being younger, the vaccine is doing the necessary work in the vaccinated population. I see there were 0 deaths in a care home with the variant breakout. Positive news. Quicker we can get younger people vaccinated, the better. Could do with catching up to Wales in speed!

The I paper say there is no evidence the Indian variant is vaccine resistant, positive.

The I paper say there is no evidence the Indian variant is vaccine resistant, positive. I think it depends where you are. Officially 38-39 opened today but I think Stoke must be ahead of the curve. My boss who is 40, got his a few weeks before it opened nationally for that age group. Yeah I think the vaccines so far are good against every known variant, so that's good. The care home case was the one with it. People almost certainly would have died without the vaccines.

11 new deaths in the UK. Beat you all π 50 here, so the restrictions (have no idea what they are anymore) will end 1st June instead of 17th May.

Appreciate it doesn't suit the scare mongering agenda but surely the law of averages tells us a new, weaker strain will appear at some point? If a variant mutates that is worse at spreading, then it won't spread much. So we won't notice it. The hope is that variants will become less deadly with time but I dunno how likely that is. If it's most infectious early on then I don't expect there's any pressure to favour nicer variants so that would suck.

Got the chills of fever here and a swollen shoulder plus constant hunger. Quite normal reactions to a vaccine, as I understand it.
Have decided to cancel the laundry pass at the laundry room on Saturday.

Have decided to cancel the laundry pass at the laundry room on Saturday. What are you gonna eat? Just had two sandwiches, one with caviar and one with liver paste. Lemon juice. Still hungry so I will prepare oatmeal porridge with apple sauce, cinnamon and milk now. I'm always extra hungry when I'm sick. Not normal at all.π€£

Absolutely. You only have to have a quick scan of the bbc news site to see how excited they are about the new Indian variant in Bolton. They are too predictable. So, the Indian scare-iant is so bad that Chairman Honey Monster hasn't closed any flights during it all. It's either dangerous and he is guilty of wilful neglect, or it's not dangerous and it's been used as an excuse for more tyranny. Which is it? If he'd shut down like NZ you'd be saying he's wrong. Some of the names being made up look like they are coming from a primary school playground

But why is it only the "stronger" and "more dangerous" variants that apparently take over? Why do we not get a really transmissible variant that takes over that is a much weaker strain? This obsession with variants is getting ridiculous. Are we going to get these hysterical overreactions and threats of more lockdowns from Sage and the media whenever a new variant of concern arises? Which at the current rate is around 20 times a year.

It can invade any tissue, any organ, this shit. They'll be saying it makes you infertile next, population control by infecting the tests and shoving it so far up your nose you feel like your head is on a stick π The disease so lethal you need to wear a mask but they need to poke your brain to find a trace of it lol. They're gearing up for an autumn/winter lockdown
