They're running a trial for mixing. As things stand the 2 jab vaccines have to be the same, but the booster jab that they think may be needed is when they're hoping to be able to mix Jabs. I think they said they'd mix jabs if there were any supply issues but I think you're right in that they'll give the same jab if they can. As I understand it there may be some benefit in mixing jabs as the body sometimes recognises the second jab of the same vaccine and fights it off, reducing it's impact. Mixing jabs might actually be more effective and I think they were trialing this using the AZ and Sputnik vaccines. There has been talk of a universal coronavirus vaccine (but that's a while off) and I think at least one of the pharmaceutical companies are looking to provide a combined flu and covid jab in time for the respiratory disease season. Oh and Bill Gates has promised the booster jabs will be 5G enabled. All good. ...and here are the results of testing AZ with Pfizer. Apparently increased minor side effects when mixed. The results from the trail on whether a mixed dose is more effective is due in June.

This is an interesting graphic showing the cases in Bolton where this Indian variant has taken off. Most cases in school kids 10-19 and then the age range 35-39 ie the parents! Also (hopefully) shows a vaccine effect too. Hopefully the vaccine does its job, seemingly looking at the ages of those infected being younger, the vaccine is doing the necessary work in the vaccinated population. I see there were 0 deaths in a care home with the variant breakout. Positive news. Quicker we can get younger people vaccinated, the better. Could do with catching up to Wales in speed! Definitely need to be catching up with first jabs, despite what the government say we aren't on track to vaccinate the remainder of the younger population by July at our current rate. Second doses are still strong though. Either that or vaccine uptake in those groups has severely slowed down. I do know a relative who had their second vaccine in Newcastle last week and a number of people were not turning up. But after all, the government target is to OFFER jabs, not actually do them by July.

As you pointed out the other day Covid is a genetically engineered virus designed by the the Chinese military. Natural viruses mutate all the time and most are weaker and not reported because "virus mutates to less interesting form" isn't very exciting. Covid is far more interesting and scary because the Chinese military specified that Covid should only mutate into a more deadly form and the communist controlled press have been told to report every successful more deadly mutation so as to terrify people into acceptance of the superiority of the PRC. Keep up. Interesting new stance you're taking there. Good to see you're finally waking up. Well done👏☺️ So you accept that there is a huge chance a weak strain will take over the mutant ninja deadly strains at some point? There is a long term tendency for viruses to mutate to a milder form because a virus that is too good at killing it's host kills itself off. However the time scale for this effect is years, not weeks. This does not mean a more deadly form will emerge and kill off it's host before this happens, Given where we are in the pandemic cycle the emergence of more deadly forms is of more interest both to the scientists monitoring the situation and those reporting the news. "Boring covid variant found that might become dominate strain in 2 years time" isn't going to win headline of the year. Unfortunately given that covid is deigned by the Chinese military it won't become less deadly and anyway the commie controlled press would be told by their masters not to report it as this would reduce the fear factor. The UK is fighting back by banning science, gagging the free press and having all news presented by The Ministry of Happy Thoughts where all news is good news, inconvenient facts are ignored and Britain still has an empire. Actually this bullshitting lark is quite easy. I can see how you got into it.

I think it was early March when we started to have a significant drop in 1st doses to accomodate the start of the 2nd doses, with the 12 week window that means towards the end of May we should start seeing a significant increase in capacity for 1st doses again as the demand for 2nd doses will be much lower.

Just had my Pfizer at Hartshill Medical Emporium.
It's mad that they don't tell you beforehand that you have to put your nob through that little hole.
I suppose they keep it quiet though so as not to put people off having the vaccine.

Just had my Pfizer at Hartshill Medical Emporium. So far so good? Sweaty, high pulse and warm eyes within 15 mins for me there at my Health Clinic. Then at the evening the chills and fever, followed by terrible headache the whole night and still. I didn't ask if it was ok to take a Alvedon tablet (paracetamol). Hopefully better day by day and ok from Monday.

Here it is, SAGE's last stand, they've loaded their final variant magazine into their covid-rifle and are making one last charge before they're shot down for good.
It's not frightening anyone anymore, just give it a rest.

I don’t like the sound of all this PROPAGANDA it’s the last ‘be on your guard’ to the same idiots who were in everyone’s homes throughout lockdown and out every 30 mins for ‘essential’ trips to tesco etc. This is just to stop them from licking lampposts. It needs to be ‘scary’ to try and get in the head of Joe Notsosmart!

I don’t like the sound of all this Just build a wall around those parts and lock them in, lots of them have still been going to India and Pakistan and lying about their reasons. I was asked yesterday if I wanted to go to Blackburn for a factory tour to look at some equipment, or just do a virtual, apart from not having a cloth cap and whippet I thought I'd give it a miss

Surge testing in areas where the Indian variant has been found is not working, sources have told the BBC.
The strategy is identifying lots of cases but is not stopping the spread of the variant, according to sources.
The variant is now being seen in lots of places, with few cases linked to travel, and case numbers have been "grossly underestimated", they said.
Extra meetings of government scientific advisers - including the health secretary and chief medical officer - are taking place to consider the growing number of cases of the Indian variant, the BBC has been told.
It is believed stage three of the roadmap for easing lockdown in England will go ahead on Monday but consideration is being given to the question of whether social distancing rules could be relaxed.
The BBC understands that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has already signed off on a reduction of social distancing measures – but a politically difficult rethink may now be under consideration.
There are now also questions being raised about the possible need to delay stage four of the easing - planned for 21 June - which would see all legal limits on social contact lifted.
One of the key tests for unlocking is the emergence of variants - and the increasing number of cases of the Indian variant could have an impact.
It is believed an announcement of a greater focus on outbreaks of the Indian variant could be made some time after 14:00 BST.
This doesn't sound good. They have shit their pants.

Finally someone talking sense: That was perfectly put I have to say. Infections are irrelevant if people are not getting severely ill and dying - thus not overwhelming the NHS. The presenter is right too, this bed wetting happens every time we go for some positivity and it's getting boring. Add that to this ramp up of fear coming straight after the election too... Even Boris himself is going back on his "irreversible" word with strong suggestions local restrictions will return. SAGE and the Government cannot help themselves

Sky news reporting people over 18 will be offered a Covid vaccine in Blackburn areas from next week.
That's great but next week? Just get on with it for crying out loud, get them booked in from now. If they can't book until next week they might not be jabbed until the week after.
Constant dither and delay
