Exactly, that's my point. Is self isolation possible...for those who want to follow the "rules"...let alone those who don't No you’ll still have to come in to human contact even if it’s passive. Exactly so we are not isolating....there are many examples of where it falls down , irrespective of government advice and genuine best intentions...until we get enforced lockdown , which would put us in a new ball game.

General question (and no not for a friend!) If people have to isolate and are advised to use friends/family to get shopping in, how are they paying for the stuff? We all have a few quid in the house but when that runs out? Give a friend your card? Let them pay then do a bank transfer? How does this work in practice? We've made bank transfers into our friends accounts.

We've been at home since Monday and everything we've had delivered, has been left on the step for a while, before being wiped down with bleach, whilst wearing rubber gloves. That’s fine but people still have to go to work to logistically get that stuff to you. Lockdown isn’t an option for most. Absolutely, I was just adressing your point about delivery drivers coughing all over your delivery.

Never going to happen mate because the country still needs to function . Otherwise we’re back to hunter gathering.

In the "Boris" prezzer tonight the answer was given - for those that are totally isolated and without help, the food (and essentials) will be free.

What about the guy coughing on his way up your drive, all over your milk and cheese? Your self isolation just got blown to fuck. Exactly, that's my point. Is self isolation possible...for those who want to follow the "rules"...let alone those who don't Self isolating isn't 100% virus proof as you could get it from plenty of places.... But whether you are successful or not at avoiding being infected, at least you can look yourself in the mirror and know that you did what you could to not further the spread of the virus to others. I'm more bothered about infecting someone else than I am about being infected myself.

I have been to my "corner shop" today. It is more than a CS, but not quite a Tesco Express. There were signs that the shelves were not quite as full as usual, but this was a Sunday evening. The wine section seemed to have taken a hammering - but very far from empty.
The two lads behind the counter were wearing face masks and gloves (I don't blame them for a second). Interestingly, a joiner was working away building a perspex screen across the till counter (seems sensible).

Social media inundated with this kind of barminess. Exactly Fuller, it isn't happening on a mass population scale, and its doubtful that it could happen in the medium term, unless it is enforced....in some way.....and then people need access to food....but not post offices and garden centres

I can't disagree with that at all Foster, I'm just pointing out ,in all honesty, in practice at the moment it seems impossible....whilst shops are open....possible perhaps to an extent as an individual, but in reality it is not happening as a population I agree. People are reacting totally to whatever restrictions their governments are putting in place. I'm sure if the Belgian government let all shops here stay open that people here wouldn't be taking the situation so seriously and would be going out. They would simply assume that it can't be that bad if stores can operate as normal. Here the only shops that are open are ones that sell food produce (supermarkets butchers, corner shops, night shops) but they have strict rules on how many people they can let in at any one time and in maintaining social distancing. All staff wear gloves and cashiers are behind plastic screens as well. There are strict measures in place for people when they go out and even today when I was out cylcling with the kids I noticed that everyone (there were plenty out jogging, walking, cycling) goes out of their way to keep at least a 1.5 yard distance from others. If I had a garden I'd probably avoid going out on the bikes but most people here are in flats so that's not an option.

They are trying to move them on to general bank accounts, but looking at my local PO this is going to be a long slow process.

I chose to go to the pub for several reasons There is belive it or not a big difference from advice to a instruction So do you think they should rule by force Should I be prevented from walking my dog Yes you should at the sharp end of a soldier’s bayonet if needed. I'm sorry to spoil your enjoyment, but that's what being in the Army is all about!

People are filling up at the filling stations every day using the same pumps, people are using the same cash points, people are still going around in groups. The only way forward is a total lockdown imo

Our Prime Minister Stefan Löfvén held his speech. It was only 5 mins long.
Nothing new. Nothing new at all.
No restrictions. People still work. Schools still open.

My neighbour just had a few posh pizzas delivered and dropped on their front door step.
They came out thirty seconds later and picked up in same fashion.
If that guy hadn't used hand sanitizer then the chances of transmittal are probably more than walking past somebody in the park.
It's a bugger.
