My neighbours have had a mothers day gathering today. 4 different lots of grandchildren around. Fucking idiots I made the decision on Friday that with the exception of the wife, daughter, dog and cat nobody was to enter the house. No kids, no in-laws, no neighbours… nobody! Fucking bliss.

I've just seen a quote somewhere saying that commonsense is our biggest weapon in the fight against this virus. Unfortunately the biggest weapons don't appear to be listening.

I honestly can't work out if people are just selfish, plain thick or a bit of both. We live in a society these days where, for some, the house you live in seems more like a hotel and your weekends are spent well away from it. It seems like a hard habit to break.

I'm just reflecting on what a simple, happy childhood I had on a council estate in Fegg Hayes. Not much money but we were really all were " in it to together", perhaps didn't know any better. As long as someone had a football, coats for goalposts. Mow Cop ventures, Knypersley, Bonfire night and Christmas. Then in the teens , never ending visits to the pubs. My son is 25....he's had massive debt, uncertain future, lack of meaningful job opportunities, armageddon through climate change, five years to save the planet, supposed to be a snowflake( though he isn't) and now potential armageddon ( of one sort or another) through a virus, one month to sort it out....and has been told that his generation have never had it so good....ever likely there is an increase in mental illness amongst the young. Still at least the young have not been called upon to fight a war from which they personally stood to gain very little. What's it all about? It's widely accepted that young people are to blame for all society's ills. They say that this was started by some Chinese dude eating an infected bat? More likely some entitled millennial snowflake prick eating a avocado that's been up the arse of some kind of non-gendered LGBT cunt (who's definitely also an immigrant). Said exactly the same last night

I’ve been reading up on this avidly over the last few days and social distancing is by far the best deterrent now.... it’s the people being sensible about it that’s the issue.

So the ruling Party in the PRC is not the Communist Party wow I bow to your superior knowledge If I call myself a professional footballer it doesn't make it true. Apparently you can self identify as whatever you want
Taken from Wiki not my work:
China (Chinese: 中国; pinyin: Zhōngguó), officially the People's Republic of China (PRC) (Chinese: 中华人民共和国; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó), is a country in East Asia and is the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.428 billion in 2017. Covering approximately 9,600,000 square kilometers (3,700,000 sq mi), it is the third largest country by area.[j] Governed by the Communist Party of China, the state exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces,[k] five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.

Yep, that classic Communism where you can own property, buy and sell stocks, get married, trade for profit and become a billionaire. Standard Communism that.

Interesting to see the presser from Edinburgh earlier.
Their Chief Medical Officer said that the UK Government bringing forward measures earlier than originally predicted was because the initial information from China re: speed of spread, No. of cases and number of deaths was found not to be the same as other, shall we say 'more reliable' countries like Italy.

6 people I know are now at different stages of going through it. One hospitalized via 911 call in LA yesterday - male, 40, no underlying issues. Listening to 5Live today and its just unreal - people heading off to Wales etc.? The same thing happened here with people leaving for the Hamptons -unreal.
All I can say is just take care of yourselves and your families by SI. The lack of government response is staggering both in the US and UK.

Still at least the young have not been called upon to fight a war from which they personally stood to gain very little. What's it all about? Similar upbringing here Alfie, footy available in all corners of the village, free roaming in every direction to find a free fishing pool, sun in summer, snow in winter, lethal slides in school playgrounds before health and safety. It's terrible news for this generation and I hope it's over sooner than I'm expecting. My son's about to graduate and now there's no university, last Thursday's full day of lectures/tuition was replaced by a 45 minute online tutorial. My daughter's current career was just taking off she's gone from a 4 day job at the Ritz in Paris three weeks back to no work. The good news is that she's putting her back into producing the most fabulous cakes the bad news is I have to run 8 miles a day to offset them If it wasn't already tough enough for this generation it's certainly going to be made worse in the coming years by this crisis. Having said that it's still one of the finest countries in the world to be born in.

Flights from Italy and Iran are still coming to the UK. That is beyond unbelievable. Not if it’s British nationals travelling on them Every country should have agreed to look after each other’s citizens on a fixed date a week ago and no one should have moved from that point forward.

11 more deaths to 244. Too early to say we've buck the trend but take any positives. Sorry if this has been posted but can't be arsed trawling through the last few pages of posters dry humping each other. England figures not included yet. 281 officially now!

I’ve got a son whose currently living abroad mate ( USA ) and thankfully he’s very happy there but it doesn’t mean everybody is and if they want to come home they should be accommodated
