As an aside, was anybody else a bit annoyed by the state of our journalists at yesterday's press conference?
"Are you really telling people that they can't see their mothers on mothers' day?"
YES OF COURSE HE IS UNLESS YOU WANT TO KILL YOUR ELDERLY PARENTS ON MOTHERING SUNDAY
"It's all well and good closing pubs, but won't young people go to each other's houses and get drunk there?"
FFS, WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO DO?

Mothers Day just gets absorbed into Dogs Day, Cats Day, Fathers Day, Granny day, Grandad Day, Gay Day .... everyday is a "day" to make a bit of money.

Another 800 dead in Italy?! That’s just mad. How close is the UK following Italy in terms of number of deaths? I saw this photo 2 days ago, and the similarity continues till today with 233 deaths in Italy 2 weeks ago and 233 deaths in UK today, I wish this will stop soon:

Is this what you’re talking about. “Boris bashers need to cut it out” It hasn’t even started. Boris has been exposed. Get over it & stop pouting. The Torys have had a propaganda machine working for them in form of the media for decades, sniping at anyone who argued with them. FFS, Until this hit the fan, they’d stopped giving the National broadcasters interviews. “He’s been weighed in the scales of righteousness & found wanting”⚖️ I'd reply if I could even understand what it meant to be honest. I can see you👀. Time to put on your big boy pants & see the Big Picture. Your on your own. I’m not you’re or anyone else’s adversary, but I’m not going to accept what it untrueXx

Italy is a modern European country (India and Africa lag behind somewhat, on all counts). Different methods of reporting surely must explain some of the anomalies.
The only sense that they do make is that this is one almighty mess.

It looks like the death rate is about 1% if your hospitals are all ok (S Korea is now at 1.2%, looks like it might go a little higher), but as soon as you get overwhelmed it's more like 4%. Massive, horrible difference in how bad this gets depending on how many have it in the same place at the same time.

There are a whole lot more cases that go unconfirmed so the rate IS lower. Doesn't change the absolute numbers though.

No choice but to stay calm. Well we have, but most studies would suggest that not doing so won't do you an awful lot of good.

What is a living wage in England? 500 Pounds a week? How many people does England have? 68 Million? 68M * 500 Pounds = 34 Billion Pounds * 13 weeks = 442 Billion Pounds How much Tax is collected in UK per year? 620 Billion Pounds? That means the entire Government Revenue for the next 9 Months should be spent given away in the next 13 weeks and the country can go without health service, police, infrastructure development/maintenance, Pensions/welfare, Education, Defense, etc? Then we see where the UK is ...... Bankrupt, riots, and anarchy. Sounds like a plan! £500/week is OTT. Enough to help people ride it out and feed themselves. Imagine the cost after this blows over, if everyone is homeless and needs healthcare due to illnesses resulting from having no job/money/home/food etc. Around 15% (?) of the population are 16 and under, so they'd see a lower amount via the parents. There has been a fair bit of research done into a basic living wage and it tends to benefit economies in the long run. I remember a few studies on homeless people in more detail, including one in London where homeless people were given £3k (no questions asked) to help set themselves up. Sounds stupid? Each homeless person costs the taxpayer tens of thousands of pounds a year, and many of the homeless people from the study are now contributing to the economy instead of taking from it (I hate to phrase it like that). Net profit for the tax system, but more importantly, less people on the streets and more people living healthier lives. Wondering if the government have messed up big style - was a 'living wage' even considered? Ignoring self-employed people has been discussed, but am I right thinking the government will cover £80,000 of someone on £100,000/year? It'd be £11,000 for someone on £14,000/year. How is is that fair? Many people on lower incomes will be spending extra on food (no school meals), electric, gas etc. now.

I thought the recommendation was that elderly and vulnerable people shouldn't go out at all. Is this suggesting they should? Or does it mean that if you are shopping on behalf of someone elderly or vulnerable you can use these times?? What means are being employed to enforce this though? Unless there are security guards at the door checking everyone who comes in, this will be abused by every selfish cunt who've been ravaging the pasta and household items aisles over the past fortnight.

I don't see any problems at all with folk discussing this business. It doesn't mean at all that we are getting scared, frightened or anything else. "Concerned" would be more accurate, and also a reasonable response.
"Stepping back" and carrying on , could actually be the last thing that we need to be doing.
What drove those fucking nut jobs to clear out the stocks in supermarkets is anyones's guess. I don't think that it would be too difficult to start a rumour on Twatter that tanker drivers are not able to supply petrol stations (through self isolation), and the same brain dead cunts would start a fuel shortage.
Carrying on is quite important And you seem particularly good at it...🤣
