Told you if you elected these lying, corrupt bastards they would burn this country to the ground. Want a country that functions in the interests of all its people? Then vote for it. Stop letting billionaire-owned media to convince you of lies in order to steal your country. One trick pony. If you think that those other twats would've done any different you're as deluded as they are. Hurts doesn't it eh?

He’s had enough but no fucker is going to take this job on. You can see he's had enough of it now, his body language said it all. He can't wait to go and he knows it's the start of the end for him. But he's always wanted to be "king of the world" since he was a little boy. Trained arduously at wanking on a biscuit at Eton. It's his dream job. He always thought he was a wartime PM in actual fact it works out that eating David Cameron's biscuit doesn't make you Winston Churchill. Just a point has anyone figured out how lorries get through Tier4 Kent to Dover when Brexit kicks in in 2 weeks? Omnishambles awaits.

I had high hopes for Starmer but he's proving to be nearly as bad as Corbyn. Starmer isn’t Labour Hackett He’s career Labour Neither of the mainstream parties are remotely representative of the majority of British people anymore. They hold the people of this country with absolute contempt at every opportunity. We desperately need new opposition parties and quickly.

This is simply the government covering its arse in my opinion. They know full well that people are likely to simply go ahead with whatever they planned anyway but now they can say 'we told you not to!' when there is the inevitable spike in January.

Regarding the New Variant - I know the view is that the vaccine will still work - but is 'the science' saying that if you have had the old variant then you will have a level of immunity - or does the new boy cut through as if we were starting again from scratch?

For you maybe but love him or loathe him, he resonates with an awful lot of middle England and the North. I'd also suggest an equivalent party on the left to add balance. These middle of the road, ineffective, bureaucratic, woke tossers with zero understand about business, values and real life are just outright wank for society.

From tomorrow I am not?
Is my understanding correct?

Unbelievable, the fucking cunt wanted this. What’s the problem here? Starmer’s just saying the government‘s messages throughout this pandemic has been confused and contradictory, and we need a clear and decisive strategy. Sir K would have locked us down well before Boris realised his latest massive gamble had cocked up.

This will be the tipping point for the "on the fence brigade", which actually makes up the vast majority of the population (to my dismay). Once they finally woke up to the fact that blanket lockdown is an absolutely catastrophic idea, it was always going to go one way. And this is that moment. Let the fun and games commence... Riots, violence, poverty, anger, hate, depression to name a few of the outcomes of this bullshit strategy. Ah the Ghost of Xmas Never has spoken. What will happen is some people will obey the new rules and some won't. Infections, hospitalisations and deaths will increase significantly during January but less than they would have done had the new rules not been applied because of those that decide to comply. So the new rules will achieve something at least. If people don't want to comply they'll just crack on doing what they were going to do anyway. They won't riot. They won't engage in violence because of covid restrictions (they might for other reasons - it's Xmas after all). If someone decides to do what they want, get angry and ruin their day then they are probably the sort of miserable bastard who would have been miserable anyway. Families getting together at Xmas always generate hate - but it won't have anything to do with new covid restrictions. Depression will increase over Xmas because it always does. Sorry mate but Big Nige isn't going to ride his white steed through the adoring rioting crowds on Xmas day and the New Dawn isn't going to break on Boxing Day. It's just going to carry on being a bit shit until the vaccine rollout is complete. And finally a Merry Xmas and a Covid Free New Year One and All - and I genuinely mean that even though I know full well it won't be for some.

Ok the SE is in trouble and we all feel for them.
BUT why were they not placed in Tier 3 in the first place.?
A total disgrace for political expediency. The government should be asked and the question. Did your failure to place the London area and SE in the correct tier3 category as you did with the N, NW, NE and the Midlands contribute to this debacle ?

The irony of all this is that Johnson has been wittering on about how the UK will be a world leader after Brexit, and despite being the first country in the world to administer Covid vaccines, he's buckled and shit himself because European countries have brought in lockdowns which won't make a blind bit of difference.
The sooner he's gone the better. And he can take his excuse of a Health Minister with him.

I don't how much of an issue it is but we still don't know how well the Oxford vaccine will work for the over 65's do we? We don't but the snippets we've heard seem encouraging, I'm sure we'll know in the next week or so. As I understand it the phase 3 tests seemed to indicate the Oxford vaccine was significantly more effective in the younger age group but they are looking to see whether it works better if given is a small/large dose and in combination with the Russian Sputnik vaccine . The sensible approach would seem to be to use the Pfeizer vaccine for the old and vulnerable as it appears to be effective across all age groups and the Oxford vaccine as part of a herd immunity programme - which should work providing enough people are willing to take it.
