If all this is an is an affair then this is such a blousey showbizz gravy train news story it makes you choke. I mean people have affairs all the time and probably tell more than a few 1/2 truths along the way. I don't like Schofield, but it's like he's mown down a few hundred school children in his pickup truck the way people are going on - so long as that is all it is of course. Normally I'd agree but there are rumours, albeit unsubstantiated, that he first met his lover when he was 12 and initiated the affair not long after he turned 16. All unsubstantiated.... But if true, that's not an affair. That's potentially child grooming. Like I said, heck of a fall. I was told at the time of his coming out that the lad he had an affair with had been known too him since round that age

However they are serious accusations if they have any substance.

However they are serious accusations if they have any substance. This is what I was trying to point out earlier in the thread. Social media and Chinese whispers (not sure if that’s still ok to say, probably not) might do for Schofield here. Then all the press that are hell bent on ending his career will be singing his praises when he does something daft like kills himself due to all the pressure and find out it’s all nonsense. Let’s not castigate the man just yet for something people think he might have done. At the moment he’s done nothing more than have an affair with a young man

The emperor has no clothes and his tiny pecker is on show for everyone to laugh at. It's hard not to feel a little schadenfreude, quite frankly. You treat people like shit throughout a glittered career and then expect them to hold out a trampoline to give you a soft landing when you fall out of your ivory tower? Lol. Not going to happen is it? He's going to get absolutely battered.

Takes me back to Caroline Flack a bit who took her own life seemingly based on internet tittle tattle.

Whatever the facts are his career is doomed in this modern era of social media fuelled witch-hunting.

Let’s take a poll of the exact number who believe it to be true so that foster finds acceptable 😃 This is quite exciting. I've never had a stalker before. How do you know?

There always seems a way back for people in media in these situations. Hypothetically they go to ground and stay out the public eye , a soft relaunch in a couple of years of mea culpa type interviews, they are full of regret but "fell in love" etc and then a few daytime TV shows come their way and it's like it never happened etc ....call me a cynic clearly lol

Anyone got a screen grab or something? I don't use Insta. There always seems a way back for people in media in these situations. He basically destroyed the life of a middle aged woman with not an ounce of evidence of her having done any wrongdoing because the McCann family have a very cosy relationship with Sky. She killed herself. He took some 'time away to reflect' and since returned. Grim.

Eamonn certainly taking advantage of the situation to display some faux outrage. Must be nice for him to have some attention.

And don’t forget he never got convicted of anything

It’s sad when old, now irrelevant men look to try and champion something for one last hoorah. If he was so bothered by something, he’d have spoken up years ago. Instead, he was too busy agitating the mentally vulnerable and rape victims.

I think part of the issue was EH was sacked off for being a "pale male" of a certain age yet PS stayed as the Golden boy. Given how close their ages are perhaps he's exactly the right age to judge him. I suspect that the happily married "old and irrelevant" EH is pretty pissed off that the gay liar with a toy boy kept his job when they are basically the same age.

No admission of guilt has been there and no charges pressed against him as far as I'm aware. A few pictures, flight logs and accusations yes. But is that any different from Trump who has pictures, flight logs and is accused of being introduced to a 14 year old?

I thought that Eamonn Holmes was got rid of because the public decided that they didn’t like listening to someone who thought that Covid was caused by 5G, and disliked hearing descriptions such as “retarded” or “uppity”. Schofield seems like a liar, that he is gay shouldn’t upset Holmes more than if he were straight….I bet it does though.

I hope the people so ostracised by this story are equally ostracised by the near 60 members of parliament currently under investigation for sexual misconduct against almost entirely younger people who mostly did not consent (unlike what we have been told here, which is that relations were consensual).

I have an issue with consensual and what it is deemed as to what is grooming, especially as he was a junior in Schofields workplace. If you are a football coach,FA rules say you cannot have a relationship with a player under 25, or they did when I was coaching, it's to remove any doubts about your position and influence, young people get 'starstruck' and we've all seen perverts use that to their advantage. If their was no consent to the MPs then that is rape, a totally different matter.

I am not condoning Schofield’s behaviour. He has been, in my opinion, rightly sacked. It could be grooming. But unless the victim reports it, I do not think there has been any criminal wrongdoing. And it seems ITV do not think there was anything untoward (not saying that is conclusive but they would have spoken to the other party). The MPs haven’t been sacked. Yet people seem more outraged by Schofield than our elected officials.

We all saw what happened recently when the police believed one man who turned out to be a fantasist and innocent men went to their grave with the cloud of that hanging over them.
