I know we have some fanciers on here. Wondering if anyone can help.
Our Pidgy was making a hell of a racket this morning and went into the room he was alll puffed up, wings kind of up a bit and was kinda dancing around in what looked a pidgy rain dance.
He seemed happy enough. Wonder if he’s now mature and is trying to get off with my rescue budgies?

There is a lot of companionship and every now and then I will find three or four budgie eggs in their cage. All are rescues. If I get him a hen will they breed?

Yes if you provide a nest box or a flat surface to nest on The hen will lay two eggs which will hatch after 18 days after the second egg is laid They will then feed the young on pigeon milk for the first few days before you have to increase the food

Do they have teats? I had no idea. It's called pigeon milk as its very similar to milk When the egg starts chipping hormones start over production of the wall lining of the crop in both the male and female pigeon and for the first few days they feed there young only on this As its very rich In protein Very fascinating is the common pigeon

It's refreshing that there is such variety and passion in other interests beyond football that is reassuring when you consider some of the crap that gets posted. 😂😂😂

It can cause cryptococcus. The ones at the Brit are more likely to cause a slip hazard. It’s everyfuckingwhere. On the steps, the seats, the walkways. Nothing an air gun couldn’t sort out.

That's what they told me, I didn't go down the air rifle route I got a hawk and a handler in overnight, did a cracking job. If folk that keep them do so away from residential areas it's fair enough, I'd hate to live next door to someone with a pigeon loft tho. We had a neighbour that had a couple of peacocks, for the life of her she couldn't see why all the neighbours were giving her grief over it.

They wander all over the place and don’t half make a racket when they are calling. You’d need a bloody great hawk to get rid of those buggers. 😊

Anyway a little bit of positivity about the much maligned humble pigeon
32 pigeons have been awarded the dicken medal ( animal vc) since its inception in 1943
During the first World War 500 hundred American soldiers were trapped behind enemy lines and were being bombarded by there own side There only hope was to get a messege back the first two of there pigeons were immediately shot down
In a last hope they released there last pigeon later called Cher ami Who despite losing a eye one leg and having a bullet lodged in her chest delivered her message and saved 194 lives
