Yes, I could already tell how tolerant you all are from your comments about the pub. Tends to be quite peaceful in rural Norfolk In my experience that very much depends on your neighbours, no matter where you live and I lived about a mile from the Norfolk border. Some people can be unbelievably inconsiderate towards their fellow man.

We live and let live round my keck of the woods Yes, I could already tell how tolerant you all are from your comments about the pub. This was a thread I made to ask for help with my pidgy. The answers were really helpful, fun, frickin hilarious at times and a delight to not only read but imagine. You see, every day is a school day.....until, as, ever you. You are lucky there are tolerant people and nice contributors. Oh, and remember, if you meet a hundred people and one of them a prick, he’s probably a prick. But if you meet a hundred people and think they are all pricks, Then your probably a prick.

He’s pure white. We had the usual thing of calling animal control and our local police. Was told that they are bred for weddings here and thus become cat or raptor snacks. Usually if the owner does want them back they kill them, homer that don’t home isn’t worth the petrol and time to get him. He is banded. We also called every pigeon club in the South and East of Maryland but had no luck. He must have been quite young when he arrived but he loves his budgies and they love him. Also, for some reason the feral cat we tamed, loves him too (must be the feral thing) I will see if he will take a snap. He’s just back from his fly round and a nice bath so he’s looking pretty good) Attachment Deleted

Pigeon Milk? Do they have teats? I had no idea. It's called pigeon milk as its very similar to milk When the egg starts chipping hormones start over production of the wall lining of the crop in both the male and female pigeon and for the first few days they feed there young only on this As its very rich In protein Very fascinating is the common pigeon And then when he is big and strong he will be free to shit all over my car bonnet and wake me up nice and early on a Sunday morning!

You are probably thinking of the wood pigeon which is a completely different breed to the pedigree racer Pedigree racers only on very rare occasions shit whilst flying as they tuck there legs up Would you shit on your heels The wood pigeon is also considerably more noisy Though the most noise tends to come from ringed doves

Has anybody ever seen a baby pigeon "in the wild", 🤔
Are they just born as fully grown adults?
What came first, the pigeon or the egg!
Why do triangle sandwiches taste better than square ones?

Great thread, folks. Personally I hate the feathered little gits but it hasn't stopped me enjoying my read.
Neighbours on both sides used to keep & breed pigeons. One or two racers but most of them kept just for the joy of it. Both smashing chaps, no problems from either them or the birds.
A few mice & the odd rat came in off the park after the food. Mostly kept out of our garden thanks to our dogs.
The flocks coming home to roost of an evening was always quite a sight. Especially the little up & over they did when crossing our garden ... to avoid a greyhound leaping 6 feet into the air at them.
