So far there's been a couple of lines in the gossip columns of some shit rag newspaper. Why the knicker wetting? I genuinely don't believe he'll be going anywhere this window unless a truly big offer came in. For sure All this...we always sell players on the cheap etc is nonsense as well No we just give then away or let their contracts run down and get nothing,,,, or just pay off their contract just to get rid, because no one in there right mind would sign a stoke reject on stupid wages. Yes you will say all clubs do this,,,, be good to name a few that do this worse.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-news-gossip-5499306Clubs do hold genuine interest, including Burnley, and if someone comes along with a sack full of Premier League cash it would be interesting to see Stoke's response. But Stoke do not want to sell, do not have to sell and will not have their hand forced easily. The priority for exits is far more focused on the exits of players who are at the top end of the club's wage bill but at the bottom of the selection pecking order.

If and when he does go it will obviously be a book keeping exercise to stop us falling foul of FFP. It would be nice therefore if the owners who don’t need or want the cash re-invest it directly in the youth development programme. Still be a sad day.

We did really well making a profit on what should have been our most saleable asset, Butland 🙄. I wouldn't trust them not to cock this up.

I would hope it's just rumours before the window opens in a few days. You often see journos who are eager to write the news before it happens. If they personally think a certain player would look in another team, they will write it as fact. So far no one has popped the question to Collins to what he would like. Or maybe they have but he's ignored them, as he might not be interested at all.

You can't blame "them" for Butland's injury and so you can't blame the transfer that didn't happen (happened later of course with circumstances very different) on them either.

Trouble is even if we got £50m for him there so zero evidence either the process or the current management could utilise any of it to improve the team And that’s the biggest concern Us getting him and then selling him for a fortune would surely show the system is working.

Does the phrase 'Stoke do not need to sell' mean that we're not under the cosh for FFP after all? There'd be no other reason we'd willingly sell an appreciating asset is there.

Not do we spend the money on for example Brown , ince , vokes , Thomson , afoebe , etc etc etc The key as Brentford have shown is a process that repeats not a one off strike that’s squandered

When there is a discussion about whether or not we will/should sell why does nobody ever consider the players input. If a premiership club comes in for you as a young player and a young player with ambition why would you not make it clear you would like to go. That changes the dynamic of the transfer completely. Why should we as a mid table championship club deny a young lad a possible life changing opportunity to play in the Premiership on a promise of.... well we hope to get back there soon. Get real. If Collins agent puts pressure on us to sell we should take the best we possibly can with sell ons. We aren’t in a position to deny a young player a shot at making it big time

We aren’t in a position to deny a young player a shot at making it big time I think the point is we don't want him to go cheaply. If a prem club meets our valuation then he will be sold. He's under contract so the player won't get a say until they reach a deal with us and I don't think he's the sort of player that will throw his toys out of the pram to get a move.

However if a bid came in we should be doing all we can to advise a young lad that the best place to learn his trade is with us. Hypothetically if an acceptable bid did come in we should negotiate with both parties an immediate return to us on loan Different type of player to Souttar, IMHO he will earn an excellent living at the highest level

It also shows it isn't working if we have to sell him(forced). If we have to sell one of very few assets to balance the books, because we wasted all our money in trash. Let's have a look who's spent the most in the division (since relegation)and then look at the value of the squad and how much we could get back, I'm not going to look because it make me sick.

FFS Stoke don't dive in, no need, clubs will be back and its early doors. I got told and posted on here that Nathan will be sold to dictate FFP not long ago, to give us some leveridge but please Stoke bide your time!

After next year, it surely becomes a run down the clock and leave for free deal? He's a great player, but if it means we can take that 12 million and underwite another decent forward, I'm all for it.

I think this is £3M too low and I really hope we don't sell without getting a decent percentage of further sales of this player!

£12m would be hard to take - hope we manage to include a decent percentage of any sell-on fee because I’m convinced Collins will end up at one of the big Prem clubs in a few years. Absolutely class player.

I think this is £3M too low and I really hope we don't sell without getting a decent percentage of further sales of this player! Its at least half the price it should be which shows clubs know our position and we are forced to sell at bargain prices. If its something we have to do and it allows us to rebuild back better and faster then painfully it may be right to accept a terrible offer like this.

Quelle surprise. Nowhere near 20M. Clubs know we are desperate.

All this plucking figures out of the air and the myth that we sell these quality players on the cheap when no one can give an example of one who has gone on to increase in value considerably or at all that we've let go.
Collins has played the equivalent of 1 season, great prospect but all this 15 million is way too low etc is based on what? Because some other club paid way over the odds for another player once doesn't mean he is suddenly worth 20 million plus.
Because Brentford sold one player for 30 million, has no relevance at all to the price of Collins.

Your rational that because he's only played 1 season he can't possibly be worth £15m is ludicrous. Potential is worth a lot .
