Apparently labour lost more remain votes than leave votes In addition Labour claims they underestimated* the feeling over Brexit *completely disregarded In leave areas they lost 10.4% of the vote, Tories gained 6.1%, The Brexit Party 3.8% and the Lib Dems 2.6% In remain areas they lost 6.4% of the vote, the Tories lost 2.9% and the Lib Dems/Greens gained 6%.

The only way that Labour can get back in government is if the Conservatives make Tony Scholes party chairman.

Watching Tony Blair on Newsnight it's easy to forget just what a polished performer Tony Blair is and how he creamed the Tories in 3 elections.

Labour really do seem to be missing the point with the aftermath of the election. Each day the noise around their policies being sound grows louder. I think it’s a matter of time before Corbyn is blamed fully and made a scapegoat and they claim the policies were great.
They need a bloody good look at themselves, but if they think the way ahead is to peddle the same old shit with the same type dismissing their traditional support then long may it continue. Boris must be pissing himself.

Here's an idea, replace a man who is widely disliked with a woman who is widely despised. Step forward Emily!

The left have decided that the reason for their defeat is down to the country not appreciating their stance on Brexit combined with the media character destruction of Corbyn. The answer to them is very clear - Corbyn maybe dead but his ideas live on. The moderates in Labour don’t agree with this. But they are two weak to do much about it. So the Ayes to the Left have it. I suspect Johnson is quite happy with this scenario.

They’ll be hoping for a left, female version of Blair / Brown will take them forward. I think they’ll be disappointed.

Yeah, I've been watching a couple of his old PMQs and the contrast between him and the Prime Ministers and Members of the Opposition we have had since is stark. Chalk and cheese.

Watching Tony Blair on Newsnight it's easy to forget just what a polished performer Tony Blair is and how he creamed the Tories in 3 elections. A bit too polished for me. A man who never makes a mistake on camera is a man who is reading a pre-determined script and not answering the question put before them. I appreciate I'm in the minority on that one, as a lot of people pile in on politicians who dare to slip up, hesitate, or stumble when giving a less-scripted, more natural answer to a question.

Blair needs to shut up. The fact that the press is so keen to give him a platform to put the boot in on Corbyn speaks volumes. With all the baggage he carries from his days as leader he's got some front I'll give him that......

Labour should be dissolved, its a party that is no longer fit for purpose, there are too many factions within it for it to function, it should be split into 2-3 separate parties.

I think most of us get pissed off when politicians revert to their pre-prepared scripts and sound bites rather than answer questions put to them. The snag, of course, is that every single slip or slight error is blown up out of all proportion by the media, ‘social media’ and opposing politicians to such an extent that, in public at least, most politicians are afraid to voice any opinion which might lead to them being ridiculed or derided. A politician has no right to be wrong.

Not sure that's true actually, he had a remain agenda for Labour for day one which has proven to be the absolute wrong strategy. Respecting the result of the referendum as per the 2017 GE pledge would have probably seen Labour in power (via an arrangement with the SNP and other minority parties) He was correct about getting Brexit done before a GE but the mechanics of that were impossible when it boiled down to it.........

But even if you believe that, labour just suffered a colossal defeat with him at the helm, the sooner he's gone the sooner Labour can move on.
