By stopping that 1%, meaning 1% lower emissions globally. Would show other countries that Carbon neutrality is possible and would massively encourage China/India/USA/the rest of the world to follow suit. The UK has already committed to carbon neutral by 2050 so what else would you do? Put actual policy in place to make that happen. There is currently no policy in place to improve carbon emissions.

It absolutely is us. It's every industrialised nation. 'But they are worse than us!' is never a good enough excuse. it's like school kids saying 'but he was talking too sir that's so unfair' as if that makes any difference whatsoever. ER are a worldwide protest group. They protest worldwide. Start with the bad guys first, those that could make a difference. We the UK are already leading the world so I repeat go to China. Edit: using your analogy you dont give a kid who talks once a ten month detention while allowing the one who never shuts up the tough trouble maker kid who would tell you to get stuffed nothing. The UK are a soft target er should all row over or walk to china and blockade them but you wont because they would bulldoze the streets clean. Okay then let's do nothing. Going carbon neutral isn't a punishment, it's a necessity.

We are committed to carbon neutral by 2050 what more do you want us to do??? like I said we produce 1% of world wide contribution so knob off to China where you'll make a real difference but you wont so not that committed are you.

The cost of carbon neutrality in the UK by 2050 is estimated to cost one trillion pounds and the likelihood is that energy costs will rocket. And you say it isn't a punishment? Who do you think will eventually pay for it?

They have. Theresa May's last vainglorious act as PM. All nodded through Parliament in a day. £1 Trillion and carbon neutral by 2050. But there's a catch. We don't really have £1Trillion to spare so there's an 1st year 'review' built into the legislation. A chance to pause or I believe scrap it.

Maybe she could donate her alleged $49 million personal wealth towards the cost.

We really cant win they talk about emergency but are cowards for not challenging the likes of china.

Frame the problem properly first, taking into account the possible risks associated policy initiatives or "we need to act" Swedish teenage bollocks.

Both China and India have signed up to the Paris agreement? If the developed countries act and commit to their pledges, this/ has, puts pressure on countries such as India and China to do the same. The problem with the Extinction Rebellion is the negative press it receives . It’s more of a story to magnify the stereotypes of the movement, (blocking public spaces and general disorder, by some) rather than the amazing work they have done/achieved, in reaching the goal of reducing carbon emissions. There are many Professors and scientists who belong to this group, and do amazing work to reach the combined nations goal. Please read below what steps China are making towards this. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.newscientist.com/article/2211366-china-is-on-track-to-meet-its-climate-change-goals-nine-years-early/amp/

Keep up. I wasn't insulting crappy. I was saying that it's ludicrous to suggest that someone as educated as lilfraise has an invalid opinion because he is apparently not in the real world because he is a teacher. It's playing the man and not the ball. At least in my case the point was that carps has a less relevant opinion on this complicated matter because he is demonstrably less intelligent than fraise jr. That's not an insult. That's a fact. So, likewise, keep up.
