The Germany article literally points to reasons it was more difficult than in “places like Britain” because of existing structures. I suppose we do nothing and let the planet die. Sounds fab. No, i'm all for being environmentally friendly, i just do not go in for this alarmism which is based on the absolute worst case, least likely scenarios. If you want to waste billions on useless new energy then you know who to vote for. Surely new energy is cleaner and healthier for us all than sending all these pollutants into the air, reduce asthma in kids, etc. why wouldn't you want that? Do you not see how the world is changing fast, the ice caps melting, corals bleaching, record temperatures every year, longest ever droughts in some countries, constant wildfires, worst on record etc. Have you read reports into the fertility of soil in the UK and how at it's current usage will be gone in a generation, but that's just alarmism, or people saying change the way we do things and quickly before we go to the point of no return, or have to waste even more billions than we are spending now to change things ?

Wrong tactic I think by Labour. Better to follow up on the “Boris is chicken” line and keep hitting that hard for as long as possible. Electioneering is all about finding a resonant (simple) message that puts you at the biggest advantage over your competition and hammering that home at every opportunity. The line of attack you highlighted above doesn’t do that. So not only won’t it be effective it could be counterproductive (not least because so many of the questions are puerile and repetitive it makes Labour look inconsequential) but it also means Johnson is let off the hook over his decision to dither about being interviewed by Neil. When you have an open goal, you put the ball in the fucking net, don’t pass it sideways or backwards.

Labour has lost touch with the working class, especially the lowest paid. That may be the case, the outcome will be that the Tories will stamp the lowest paid into an underclass, where foodbanks are part of the welfare state. The workhouse model. The Victorian ghost will be coming in his long johns. Translation: My party have ignored a key section of my voters and the other party are somehow the baddies. Sure now Jeremy do you think Israel has a right to exist if so what is biased about the bbc stating this ? He’s saying there is pressure on the BBC to be supportive of Israel in many respects not just its right to exist. Everyone knows he’s never been particularly supportive of Israel. Do you not agree you can be critical of Israel but not hate Jews?

Why is useless? How you/your kids/their kids and so on going to heat your home when the fossil fuels run out? I suppose it’s best to overpay the oil companies until it completely runs out and then you can start burning your belongings or something. Fossil fuels running out???? If you believe that then you're simply not understanding the sheer size and scale of oil and gas reserves this planet has......but I suppose thats for another debate. I work in the industry fella and believe me theres enough of it to last hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years. The problems of accessing it are the next challenge - which will bring many benefits to this planet. Put your brain in gear before spouting nonsense heh…. Pay the Saudis and big oil companies more and more and more for them. Go fracking to get them. Everyone’s just been alarmists and making stuff up.

Lol the sent him at the last minute in a panic along with his dad. No-one is scared of the woodland troll Gove. Even people that support Boris know than man is bumbling buffoon. He was 2 years the DEFRA Minister and will be responsible for the Climate Change conference in Scotland next year. When has Corbyn, Swinson or Sturgeon ever held positions like that?? incorrect as usual roger he will only be there if he is a minister!! in addition lets face it, it was a leaders event and Johnson was a chlorinated frit chicken!! again roger your argument for the others being there is a joke they are the leaders of there parties also sturgeon as first minister has had responsibility in Scotland for 9 yrs , corbyn also has green credentials through the way he has lead his life! if you had watched the debate last night you would have known !! you would have also seen a block of ice out perform Johnson anyway and show more intelligence!!

I’m not saying do nothing but as technology evolves we’re getting more efficient and environmentally friendly anyway, there’s no need for huge, wasteful government programs, there’s no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater, the alarmists I’m talking about are the ones going around saying we have 11 years before the world ends and we basically need to revert to living like cavemen to save it, the green party and labours policies would hit the working class the hardest and reduce the standard of living.

He was 2 years the DEFRA Minister and will be responsible for the Climate Change conference in Scotland next year. When has Corbyn, Swinson or Sturgeon ever held positions like that?? Has anyone got a dictionary definition of 'Leader' for Roger? Of course John has summed up what's happening with the bigger issue of the Neil interview. Typical Bullingdon privilege and still the clapping seals refuse to see it. McDonnell said he was “so annoyed” about Boris Johnson not appearing on the BBC to be grilled by Andrew Neil, and that the BBC should be annoyed, too. “All political parties understood that there would be sequence of interviews with each leader,” McDonnell told the Today show. “I think this is a matter of honour.” The PM was “playing the BBC”, pushing an appearance until the deadline for postal votes had passed, thinking “his Bullingdon Club friends” were above public scrutiny, and was running scared of interviewer Neil, who would “take him apart”, McDonnell said. This is why these 'Leaders' debates are bullshit. If it's an environment debate I want Environmental Ministers talking. If it's about economics it's the Chancellor and Shadow's, etc, etc. Leaders should set the General Policy and Launch Manifesto's. That's it. The idea that any leader is across every detail of every policy is daft. It's all rigged to fuel the minutiae of 24 hour/social media soundbites. As for McDonut being "annoyed" don't make me laugh. Daft old fart with his hard man act.

Johnson decided to butter some scones in Cornwall instead and so has given his view on how serious he takes the issue. That's purely subjective. The environment has featured in manifesto's for decades. I want to listen to who the Prime Minister has trusted to spearhead his Government's policy on this subject. Your fetish with Leaders Debates just regurgitates the top line soundbites. There's never any real detail or progress with the debate. Corbyn said "I'll deal with it" when asked about historic student debt. Raynor then said Labour has no policy to pay off existing debt. Round and round we go.

I'll let you have the last word - fill yer boots Yes sure I studied politics and economics at Oxford but don’t understand the worlds economy 🙄 oil and gas support the worlds economy because they had a monopoly as the key sources of energy for years and people have been dependant on them. Oil companies have made an absolute fortune - how is everyone overpaying them helping the economy - it’s taking money out of the system and putting in the hands of a select few. In fact most recessions in modern times have been proceeded by a spike in oil prices. www.frbsf.org/education/publications/doctor-econ/2007/november/oil-prices-impact-economy/What do you thinks going to happen if cleaner energy sources are made available? The economy will collapse?

Conservatives are more popular than Labour with working classTaking Brexit out of the equation.... what benefit does voting Tory bring to the working class? I mean, there is literally nothing in common between the Tories and normal working class people. I find it staggering to think there are working class people who see the likes of Boris, JRM, Gove on tv and then think, 'yeah, those guys are just like me and are doing their best to give me a better future'. It's laughable that people believe/ignore/deflect any shit that comes out of that party.

Did they write that they can "deliver real democratic change" before or after they stood down their candidates to help one of the existing major parties to maintain the status quo? Some of the policies are decent, but it's high on ideology and very low on details of how to get it done and how it will be paid for. That is to say, even lower than the other parties. In addition to abolishing the H of L ... The Brexit Party supports policies aimed at regional regeneration, supporting key sectors of the economy and targeted investments in the young, the High Street and families. We pledge to: • Raise £200bn by: – Scrapping HS2 – Keeping the £13bn annual EU contribution – Recovering our £7bn from the EIB – Redirecting 50% of the foreign aid budget (£40bn over a five-year term). ...... What's more I would trust Farage and the BREXIT party to deliver what they say more than the 3 main parties. I believe that more of the Brexit party candidates have had careers in business, " can-do" people rather than inward looking career politicians who can talk a good game, and like preserving their own self importance by ' getting the other side". The decision to step down was to some extent politically forced upon the party...at this stage it seems to have focused Labour's mind and to some extent sidelined their campaign in my opinion.... aren't there rumours that Labour are reconsidering their approach in their OWN traditional heartlands....as far as conviction politics are concerned they certainly have lost the plot. The only thing the Brexit party can achieve at this election is to help make Brexit not happen. Every vote they get works against the Tories meaning a vote for Brexit increases the possibility of a Labour minority Government and a second referendum which would offer a choice between Brino (most likely staying in the single market and retaining freedom of movement) and stopping Brexit altogether. Something that is worth spending a few moments thinking about.

But in the 200 seats that the Tories are least likely( impossible) to win in England and Wales it is arguable that the BREXIT party have a better chance of winning than the Tories....of course it will never happen but perhaps the Tories ought to stand aside. The size of the BREXIT party vote, irrespective of seats ( which I predict being between 0 and 2) might be significant in future developments..... what type of BREXIT will Boris deliver? Alternatively there could be surprises up North..... perhaps the electorate there are entitled to have the opportunity to vote BREXIT if they can't stomach the Tories
