So now you admit it was all in your head Words, to, that, effect. Iām not sure how else to break it down for you... I find it very strange that with you it has to be quoted and verbatim, you know this is a football forum and not crown court donāt you?? It's a shame you didn't think about that before quoting the voices in your head. Isn't it?

Also maybe before you embarrass yourself further check to see what Iām exactly quoting. Or maybe you should sober up and revisit this in the morning š For someone that seems to want everything to be exact Iād love to see what Iāve quoted. (Big clue, I used the phrase āwords to that effectā š)

I'm so sick of hearing about Verlinden being the Messiah we need that I almost wish that he'd get a run. The only time I saw him play he carried the ball down our left wing until he was confronted by an opponent. He then turned around to face our own goal and then passed the ball back. I doubt that he had been instructed not to take on a defender. Anyway, the jury is still out, but I think MON is a very good judge of a footballer and I don't think MON would ever select any player on anything other than ability. You may remember before the Forest game last season he said he wasn't going to give anyone a run just for the sake of it, even tho' we were safe at the time. You've misread the praise. No one thinks he's going to be the next Messiah. No, no, he's better than that. He's going to be the next Messi, in fact he was better at 15 than Messi was at the same age... (I just made that up) If you're sick of hearing about Mes- Verlinden, there's one sure remedy for you. Don't click on a thread which has Verlinden as the only word in the title. How difficult is that?

It might apply to you, and several others on here, that you've never bothered to go and watch him in games or you can't remember the 13 times he played for us, mostly cameos. Others have actually gone over to Clayton Wood or have turned on their connection to watch the academy online and have seen for ourselves just how good he sometimes is."the gulf is immense and very few manage to bridge it". Then it's very strange that Bursik, Collins, Souttar, Tymon, Campbell all came out of the same Academy and are playing for the Championship team which many are pinning their hopes on. Verlinden was part of that very same group, and that fact alone suggests that if he has what it takes then he'll bridge that gulf more easily. I don't think he has hidden anything from his managers. Hughes, Jones, and, yes, O'Neill have all spoken highly of him and they have played him, which you'd think they did for a reason. I just think that they all wanted to "ease him in" but then injuries happened, and those injuries held him back, with the current manager at first being overprotective of him, not realising that Thibo has been waiting to play properly for about four years now. I will admit that I've only ever watched him live in first team games, including pre season at Lincoln. As I stated, what he does at u23 level is only relevant if he can convert it against better opposition. Your point about Tymon? First teamer at Hull when we signed him, hardly an academy product, whilst Bursik got lots of loan experience, as did Souttar. Collins is the closest we have to a truly "home grown" player, even Tyrese would point to Man City as the place he got his grounding. I want Thibaud to succeed, I just don't get the feeling that he will, and I base that on seeing him play and his on field attitude. Hope he proves me wrong You've watched him live in first team games - which is more than most on here have - yet you make little actual comment on what you saw... I never said that the six young ones were home grown, none of them are, not even Collins who was reared footballwise at a Dublin club (forgotten which one). But they all were bought into the the academy, some for little, some for more. They all met up there at some point between loans and they have a strong bond between them, Tymon and Verlinden especially so, so it would have been interesting to see some of that blind understanding brought on in the first team. So they all were promoted from the academy. That's a simple fact and you can't change that. You seem hell bent on putting down scfc and the six young men, listing their previous outside scfc credits ahead of their work here. To name just one, Bursik didn't become a brilliant young keeper by going to Hednesford, Telford United, Accrington Stanley, and Doncaster. According to lordb, Doncaster fans didn't even think he was much good! He picked up valueable experience of commanding a defence, but it was the coaching of Quy, and before that. his coaches at Wimbledon plus the national coaches that improved the talent which was always there.

And where does it mention 'Messiah' or even a definite 'answer' to our problems. No, no one claimed that. He just seemed, by many, to be a natural, or nearest, replacement to Campbell at the time. And in no way as good as Campbell. Never will be. Probably and and niether is Brown or any other winger/striker on the books, lets just not bother then and carry on as we are.

As Clarke is here on loan, maybe we should loan Verlinden , to allow him to get more game time somewhere else

Wouldnāt be an awful deal as long as we have the sell on percentage.

We could probably sell Verlinden, he clearly has no future here whilst MON is in charge.. How do you know itās down to MON? How do you know itās not down to Verlinden seeing his future elsewhere? Actually Iāll answer that for you. You donāt. So donāt make statements that are purely guess work without indicating thatās exactly what they are. For example, Verlinden clearly has no future here because heās developed an extreme and potentially fatal reaction to over-consumption of oatcakes.

Personally, heās the only one that I want to go out on loan. Iād prefer he go back to league 1 for half a season and ideally come back ready to go when Clarke (and likely Matondo) are gone next year.

You can't blame Verlinden for wanting to leave can you.
He needs to be playing at his age and he sees McClean and Ince ahead of him.

Would be great to see him go out on loan & come back to challenge for a place in the team, as he seems to have a trick or two. The recent signings would suggest his race is run here, however.

Ouch, that must really hurt the lad when you put it as simply as that. Iām not saying Verlinden is the answer to everything like some, but I still donāt truly believe we know what we will get with him as he hasnāt had a proper run. Whereas, we know exactly what we get with Ince and Mckean....and it aināt good. It seems wrong to keep him here, let him fly free and make his own way.

Verlinden is possibly the next Serge Gnabry during his time in WBA.
There are managers who don't fancy player(s) cuz they're human aswell. So........

If he has, I must admit I'd be slightly disappointed - not least because (& I may be wrong) I don't feel like he's had his 'chance' in the side.
