It was certainly better than last week, Not sure about Allen in this formation looks lost works hard for nothing, Butland should stop the first goal and the marking for the 3rd goal was worse than under 11's!

I agree. I think in a few months time all those calling for a 4th manager sacking in 21 months and starting inane debates on who the manager should be are going to look stupid. But like both sides of the Brexit debate they will never admit they were wrong. I will happily hold up my hands and admit I was wrong, if, and it's a big if, Jones starts producing results. In the meantime, based on 50+ years experience of following Stoke and witnessing a run of 3 wins in 24, I'll continue to follow my suspicions that the man is a fake and out of his depth. This won't stop me following Stoke, I was at Charlton, I'll be at Wigan and Preston next week, but I'll be there in hope rather than expectation. Come on Jones, prove me wrong. Jones' league record to date: P 22 W 3 D 11 L 8 PTS 20 Pulis' league record (1st spell): P 22 W 4 D 8 L 10 PTS 20 Whether he's a success or not is on a knife edge, but still think calling him a fake and out of his depth is harsh considering the absolute state of our club on the pitch over the last couple of years......

Spot on the summers business has yet again been truly atrocious ,window after window and jones isn’t the common denominator , Davies , Smith , cousins ward wages should have gone on real quality Gayle as a minimum Dunner start on about bad windows and good windows again. I can’t actually recall a good window in the last 4 years 😉

Bold statement and one I wouldn't have made personally, the reality is in football if you can improve season after season you can't complain too much. He needs at least another transfer window in my opinion, that said I'm not naive if we lose 6/7 on the bounce or something daft no manager is ever going to survive that......

First time I've been to a game for yonks (home or away) and for the most part it was largely positive IMO. I haven't missed a game via live stream for the same period so have watched the overall decline and frustration too.
The positives:
Firstly, we were out of the traps at kick-off like a scalded cat - the away end responded immediately with terrific noise and energy.
The pair up top were an instant breath of fresh air compared to Vokes and Afobe even with Hogan at about 60% fit.
Woods looked again like the player we first signed from Brentford.
Ince's quick feet put us on the front foot.
We looked assured at central defence.
The negatives:
Clucas and Allen seemed content to slow play and merely rotate the ball around midfield and defence killing any drive forward.
Ward and Smith would get to the half way line and then, again, any forward momentum was lost as there was no width ahead of them. Wing-backs have to be able to beat the first man and steam up the touchline.
Jack - his second howler in two games and it killed the Stoke noise coming from behind him. The players immediately sunk mentally when we were so clearly on top. Incey's strike lifted them again thankfully but it was worrying to see their heads drop at 1-0. We are so fragile and almost look conditioned to it - Christ, we need to win a couple to put some belief back into them.
Charlton's second and third were hard to swallow after doing very little during a spell in which we could have scored three or four ourselves with more clinical finishing and/or luck. At least we made chances.
So, in summary;
We were at the races. We look more potent in attack. We need Etebo and Duffy in there to break the midfield impasse and create our play. Jack needs to buck himself up or get dropped. We really do need to sing our hearts out for 90 minutes and cut out the groaning/booing, especially at home - it makes a huge difference to players with fragile confidence. Do it for the team even if you're not big on Jones...
GO ON STOKE !!!

We'll get there. I believe in Jones 100% and his desire is admirable.

Oh I do, we'd be making an 'ambitious move' for Allardyce or David Moyes and their thrilling brand of football. Best to be patient and support the manager who is looking to bring successful attacking football that is good to watch, and he'll get there.

Moyes was actually my first choice when jones got the job but now I've seen some of this football jones is in the process of making a mainstay I'd rather jones than any of Allardyce or moyes
