Bit harsh. Thought he was average and there were far worse players on the park who couldn't trap a bag of cement... namely Allen and Afobe.

Ran around, broke up the play, positionally not bad, limited going forward. He did his job, Allen and Clucas did not. He was 10x the player Joe Allen was today. Have you ever thought of auditioning for the Specsavers advert? |

Allen had numerous times to release the ball, but didn’t. Cousins’s job is to break up play and then pass the ball on, which is what he did. If anyone thinks we’d signed Kante, then he’s not that, but he did his job for me. |

He didn't look that bad on the stream but it's a different view at the game. He showed some glimpses of potential for me. I just thought he was a bit "safe" but I still think that is more to do with the utter shit ahead of the midfield than it is the midfield itself. Far bigger concerns for me were the full backs and the front 2. Edit - come to think of it the only one to emerge with any real credit will be the one who misses out next week |

The problem today was not him. Allen and Clucas failed to give appropriate cover, were positionally awful and gave very little going forward. I could understand if the didn’t defend well but got forward well, but they didn’t. |
